Hi i am brand new to the forum. Trying for baby number 1. Found out last week that progesterone levels are low so may not be ovulating. Have been using ovulation sticks for a few months and never had a positive result. Husband and i are being referred to a fertility clinic. Feeling really sad and low about it. Husband is being great but i feel like i am letting him down. Any advice on what it is like at the start of this journey would be fab!

Hi Judy. Just wanted to wish you well with all this. Just remember that you are in it as a couple, and will support each other as you go through treatment. Perhaps you just need some medication, I don't know, but you're on your way, and the ladies here will support you too. Thinking of you. Diane
Hey welcome to the forum! I cant help with the ovulation part of things although I do know that you can be tried with medication to help with this side of things if it turns out to be the problem. What I can say is my perspective...... its my hubby who had the "issue" at the beginning....he has a very low sperm count which they cant fix. He was in a bit of a state thinking our infertility is all his fault but I didnt blame him at all. Its not his fault and I dont think any less of him neither do I want anyone else. You're in this together, and Im sure if the table was turned you wouldnt want your OH to feel bad so Im sure he doesnt feel that way about you. Good luck on your journey!xx
Hello
First off welcome!
You sound like you may have a similar issue to me, I don't ovulate either. I have a history of PCOS. There are lots of options if that is what is going on so try not to get too down about it (I realise how hard that is). If you have any questions, fire away. This forum is really supportive.

Thank you for your lovely responses. I feel very welcomed. Was a bit of a shock when i first heard. I suspected something was up but completely different hearing it out loud! The GP said that the clinic may put me on tablets to start off with but didn’t give me too many more details. Just wish it wasn’t such a long wait!
Hi Judy
Do you know how long the wait is? Sometimes you can be surprised and it isn't too long (I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!). When you do get your referral the first things the doctors will do is further tests on yourself and your partner. From those test results they'll come up with a course of action. As your GP said that might just be tablets or it might be you require something a little more invasive. Definitely spend this time doing some research so you have an idea what the doctor is talking about. There are loads of really good blogs, books and podcasts.
Best of luck!!

Welcome here - it’s a lovely place where everyone is so supportive and always there to help.
Take a notepad to the clinic as you May be bombarded with lots of information, and don’t forget to ask what it all means, they speak as if we know what all the jargon is about!
The GP won’t really know too much on infertility, the clinic can advise you. It could be worth checking if IVF is funded where you are as well, at least to get your head around it if that’s a path you choose to go down (it’s not funded where I am 😕 and helped to know).
You’re not letting anyone down, these things happen and it’s a bit of a lottery as to who it happens to.
