New on here and not posted before but I would be lost without reading all your posts which are an enormous source of comfort and information. Due to start IVF/ICSI this month! Never actually thought I would be glad and willing for period to come lol
Husband has low sperm count and motility so frozen samples but aiming to do fresh on the day.
My AMH was 40. I am 35. Private at Hewitt centre Liverpool
Nervous and apprehensive yet excited. Trying to stay grounded as told only 30% success rate! So many emotions
Wondering whether we should go for access fertility option and get multi cycle in case we need more Than one go
Anyone gone for that option and also due to start this month? Good luck & baby dust to everyone on this journey xx

Just wanted to say welcome and wish you luck for your upcoming cycle. It is excited to finally get started, we cant help ourselves but I think you are well equiped with success rates. There is a lot of luck involved in IVF for sure! I cant comment on the access fertility, maybe put a post up asking others that took it out and if they thought it was worth it.xx
Thank you for your kind words and warm greeting! Finding this group enormous support as we’ve decided not to tell family and friends ( I know everyone different but felt like another layer of stress) good point about the luck factor! Trying to stay grounded as much as possible. Hope your journey goes well too. Thank you x
Hi Bing84. I have my consultation appointment on Tuesday at the Hewitt Centre (NHS) my initial appointment was on Halloween so I also am new to this and just looking for those in similar situation as well. I am assuming I may start in January but don't want to get my hopes to high in case the wait is longer although its really hard not to get excited and keep grounded isn't it haha.I suppose this is only the beginning of the rollercoaster! Good luck with your treatment, I wish you the very best xx
Aw that’s good. I have nothing but good things to say about Hewitt thus far! We’ve so far had initial consultation, tests then follow up last week when they said we are ready to start next cycle so need to ring up on first day of period. Though just waiting on our follow letter to firm up all these details. I did ask would christmas be a problem but they said they are only closed on the bank holidays.
Hope you also have had a good experience and that we get the end result we want! Good luck and sending baby dust x
Hi Bing! Welcome! I am also new here. That's so exciting that you are about to start IVF/ICSI. The risk/benefit analysis of Access Fertility multiple cycle option is a very personal decision, and there is no right answer, but I thought I would just chime in with my experience so far and my support. I have just signed up to Access Fertility's 2 year unlimited program, and it gives me piece of mind that we have multiple goes and a refund if it doesn't pan out. I think the risk of spending loads of money unnecessarily if it works out in one go is far outweighed by the benefit of the monetary savings and reduced stress if we need more rounds. I'm at a slightly different point in my journey as we have had two fresh (one private, one NHS) and one frozen round of IVF/ICSI this year. This first resulted in pregnancy and unfortunately a missed miscarriage, and then nothing from the next two.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read and respond. It is really good to hear about other experiences though I’m sorry to hear it has not worked out so far so sending you baby dust for your next attempt. I truly believe Everyone will get there eventually even if we have to wait longer and endure a few challenges along the way!
Good to hear your take on access - I agree with your comments. That’s been helpful.
Hi Bing, good luck on your first go. Just wanted to share that we signed up to Access 3 cycles 100% refund. Sadly we failed all 3 so got our money back which was a silver lining after all the heartbreak. Only downside I would mention is, we weren't too happy with the clinic after round 2 but had to stick with them for a third round as you can't change clinics if you're with Access. Otherwise it's a great insurance policy if you get accepted. X
Hi! We’re under the Hewitt Centre in Liverpool too. We’re on our first cycle - started in Aug. We had our FET on Friday 🤞🏻 so just waiting for test day!! My AMH was 33 so only thing I can say to you is you may experience bloating and be uncomfortable from the injections as they said this to me due to AMH and towards the end it was but nothing too unbearable it’ll be worth it! Good luck with everything 😊 xxx
