During my scan Monday the nurse mentioned I had a small hematoma above the baby, she didn’t seem concerned she said I may bleed a little or my body will absorb it ? Does anyone have experience of this ? Xxx

Hematoma in pregnancy
Hi lovely
I’ve had one with both my pregnancies.
With my first the haematoma was big and sadly kept growing all around my embryo. Doctors were very pessimistic about it and unfortunately I lost that pregnancy due to it.
With this one my haematoma was smaller on my second scan, and seems to be reabsorbing 🤞🤞🤞
Since yours is small the prognosis is usually good.
Its location is important too in some cases, for example, my first one was almost all around sac and pushing it down towards the cervix 😔
This one seems to be located in a safer position.
My crazy research about the subject told me that it is very common (up to 25% of pregnancies) and most of the time it has no implications to the baby.
Hope I didn’t scare you in any way, just sharing my experiences
All the best 😘😘😘
Hi ICSIBaby. Usually these small haematomas do re-absorb and are nothing to worry about. As it is not large, then fingers crossed it will either settle as it is, or absorb. They will keep an eye on it. Fingers crossed all goes well. Diane
I contacted my clinic and they said that my haematoma was small that they won’t even rescan me, not too worry! Phew 😅 🤞🏼 xx
