What day to start stims?

I’m sure this question has been asked many times so I apologise.

Just wondering on a short protocol (max dose) what day of cycle did you start? I have to go in for bloods and scan the day after my period arrives but they only do bloods on a Monday, Wednesday & Friday. I want to have FSH and scan day 2 preferably as I tend to have a heavy bleed day 1 and 2 so I tend to have a decent blood result by day 2 but my clinic have advised I can go In within 72 hours of starting period.

I’m worried that I “ come on “ today or tomorrow (Friday or Saturday) and then I won’t be in clinic until day 3 or 4 of cycle. Is starting stims on day 4 of cycle too late? I obviously want to have the best possible start.

Hi Emmyeve, I have just done a short protocol and day 1 of my cycle was a Friday, like your clinic bloods and scans were Mon/Wed/Fri therefore I rang on the Friday to let them know and they said to go in for bloods the following Monday (day 4) and a scan to check my lining. We got the go ahead that Monday to start stims that night. Was all very quick and a little surreal to be honest. We did our trigger on Wed and had our egg collection this morning! This is our first cycle so everything is pretty new. Happy to help where I can x

Different clinics have different protocols. My clinic starts stims on day 1 with a short protocol but I know others do it later. Your clinic will be used to ladies starting their period on a different day to the one they do bloods on and will have a system in place to deal with it. Just give them a ring when you do come on and they’ll advise you. Good luck with your cycle.
