Cyclogest Pessaries smelly wind and stomach cramps

Hi all I’m taking Cyclogest Pessaries (rectal) as part of a fet procedure - oh my word I have had the worst smelling wind, Diarrhea and stomach cramps - so much I think my husband is going to divorce me or take me to a priest to perform an exorcism as we both believe something has died and taken residence!, it might be the first one because he is refusing to get in a car with me as it is deemed as a confined space.

And does any one know if I can take anything for the stomach cramps other than paracetamol ?

Any help really appreciated

Haha!! I am exactly in the same boat! We sleep with the bedroom doors open as my husband can't stand it! I am taking the pessaries the same as you and within 10-15mins, I'm windy & crampy and sore boobs. Diarrhea is horrible too.

I haven't been taking anything. Just riding it out. Its all worth it in the end. That's what I say to myself and hubby. Keep everywhere well ventilated. Might also be something you are eating that's making it worse? Good luck x

Oh dear! I had the same problem but from the progesterone injections and oestrogen tablets. Its was awful! Luckily my husband has a really bad sense of smell and kept saying he can't smell anything - or maybe he was just being nice... he did joke a lot that there'd be an article in the paper one day of "woman gassing husband" aka me 🤣 It was a lot harder to keep it in at work. Did a lot of stealthy trips to the loo... Luckily the wind stopped when I stopped the medication and everything went back to normal. Good luck xxx

Ah no !!! My clomid has been upsetting my insides a little (no exorcism required, however) and I take Charcoal tablets to help wind/absorb bad odours, it helps a bit. My OH uses them too occasionally with his numerous digestive issues and is a fan. We use either Buscopan or Mebervrine/Colefac for IBS related cramps they are fab, I but I honestly have no idea if you can take those in your 2WW/IVF check with a pharmacist/doctor first...

Have a little full fat coke it can help settle things in my opinion. Good luck xxx

Oh dear, I was the same it was the bloating that was causing the pain for me but I can honestly say good old peppermint tea worked a treat. Especially after a meal and make sure you drink at least your 2 litres of water a day x

I had to change things up a bit as I was getting awful bloating and cramps using them rectally. I started using the first one vaginally and then the next one rectally and it’s really helped. I’ve just had my last one and I don’t think I’m going to miss the digestive issues 😂

Your post made me laugh as I’m experiencing the exact same thing. I’m on them until the end of April so a long way still to go. I wouldn’t be surprised if my husband starting walking around with a gas mask just in case 😂

😂😂😂😂😂 Is there a difference with inserting these vaginally or up your rectum? Do we start these before the egg collection?

Wow this could have been written by me ! I’ve been using Cyclogest for 8 days and the wind abdominal pain and bloating is just horrible. My bowl feels constantly like it’s wanting to move 🙈 but doesn’t and the stools are a strange clay colour. This can’t be right. The body doesn’t like this otherwise we wouldn’t have these symptoms. I couldn’t take it vaginally so I’m now convinced that I can’t tolerate taking progesterone this way. I used to have the Mirena and it was trouble free but I had it removed as I started to read how the device was causing serious health issues ! I really don’t know what to do now as I take the bio identical estrogen and testosterone so it’s essential I get progesterone. Don’t know what to do 🤔
