Thankyou all for taking the time out to read my post. I'm 45 years old female . Who has 2 children from a previous marriage. I met my husband a few years ago and due so some unseen circumstances he had to be away for a while. We tried naturally and I got pregnant but it was a chemical pregnancy so we went privately for IVF had my 1st cycle of IVF. I got 3 mature eggs. We had to have icsi as my husbands sperm count was on low. 1 fertilised 2 didn't. Was called back to the clinic on day 2 for transfer. I was told the embi cells should have divided to 4 by day 2 of fertilisation and ours was a 8 cell. Although she was very careful to say it doesn't mean anything was wrong. On egg transfer the Dr had to do a retake as she thought it was done catheter removed, and when the embryologist checked it was still on the catheter. So again the Dr put the egg back with success. Has anyone else had that happen to them I'm just curious.
I had 2 sessions of acupuncture one before transfer and 1 after transfer. After the long wait I did my pregnancy test today and the results was negative. I'm totally devastated and have been very tearful. Just wanted some advice from people with simular circumstances, any supplements I should take. How soon would a 2nd cycle be recommended. As age is not on my side.
Are different drugs used in cycles.
Its been a very hard and tiring experience. I really thought it would work.
Keeping my fingers crossed for 2nd cycle
Has anyone conceived naturally after failed ivf cycles.
Thankyou all for reading me.
Regards and wising everyone here some positive news.

Sorry to hear things didnt work out for you. Our first ICSI cycle also failed (I too had a day two transfer, 3 eggs collected and only one made it but was going too fast like yours). I am 42.
I wanted to start again straight away so they said I should have my post cycle bleed (that started before test day anyway) and one more period and then I could start again. Mentally I just wanted to feel like I was doing something proactive. Other people I know take longer to grieve, reset etc.
I was on the max dosage of drugs anyway so they didnt add any more but they changed the protocol from long to short on second round and I got 13 eggs, 7 made it to day 3, 3 made it to day 5 and I had all 3 transferred. I got my BFP but sadly MC at 9 1/2 weeks.
Post MC you have to wait 3 months before you can do a fresh cycle so now I am on hold which is frustrating. I would recommend you talk to your clinic about changing the protocol.
Thankyou so much for your reply, so sorry to hear about your loss. Wishing you best of health. Hope all goes well for you.. I was on menopur 300 and suprecur 30. I have my follow up on Monday. Shall discuss with the doctor and see what she recommends. What is the difference in protocols? ll goes well for you in the future.
Hi. Did you down regulate before you started your stims? first cycle I took Buserelin for 3 weeks and had a bleed to shut everything down before I started the menopur. Thats long protocol. Short protocol is when you just stimulate.. ie just the menopur. Some protocols work better for some than others so its definitely worth asking.
I dont know about Suprecur but I was on 450 menopur only (which is the top dose) 'due to my age'
Hello all! I'll stick to the conversation if don't mind. I am 38 and I am on my 2nd ICSY+DE, still hoping that it will work out. I do not know if it helps, but several days ago I learned about a new interesting mitochondria therapy for women +-40. It must help them to conceive by making their eggs stronger. It is not impossible for me as I use DE, but if your OE are alive, it can turn to one more chance...
