High FSH low Amh - Post pill related? Please please help

Hi all

I literally just turned 30, and as a cruel joke have been told I have premature ovarian failure. My FSH was 65, then 49 two weeks later. My AMH was <1 but I don’t have an exact number.

I feel like this can’t be right?! I went off the pill 5 months ago to TTC and haven’t had a period since. Hence the testing.

I had a pelvic ultrasound too which showed everything normal size etc. I think only 3 follicles though, and only one ovary could be seen during the scan as it was quite painful for me to let them keep probing around!

I’m so upset and truly do not understand or accept that this can be true. I mean, I was on the pill for 15 years.. could is be possible for this be temporary?

I’m not sure about the pill, I was off mine for a year before being tested but at 31 was diagnosed with low amh 2.2 and high fsh 22.5.

I’ve met a lot of young ish ladies with low numbers so I’m not sure if yours will be real or a result of the pill. I haven’t heard of the pill causing skewed results though. I think amh is consistent, pill or not and a low number like that does match with the low follicle count on your scan. At 2.2 i tend to have 3 or 4 each side.

It’s pretty hard to take getting such a diagnosis but it doesn’t mean you won’t have children.

Hi I had my amh tested 2 years ago and it was 3.8 however had a scan a 2 months ago which showed 6 folicules on each side.... which the nurse said is a good number. During the 2 years I’ve been off my pill so not sure if this has helped. I personally this the amh scares lot of us & the result certainly scared me as I was only 28 at the time of testing however the folicule side has given me a little more hope so fingers crossed the longer your off the pill this may help u too x

I am on the same boat now, I got my results last week. I am also 30 and a high FSH (NHS didn't test for my AMH, but I am now scared to know..).

I was wondering how are you doing now on your treatment?
