I’ve just had a letter from the Assisted Conception Unit to say my AMH is 6.2 and that’s within normal range. I’m relieved as this was worrying me given I’m 40.
However, when googling AMH levels I’m seeing conflicting things! Some sites say this is low.
Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.
Thank you x

I don’t have any solid advice but I think given that you are 40 that it’s quite a good number. I think the fact they are saying it’s normal is a positive thing too, because they are always pretty honest if things don’t look good xx
Hi littlemermaid 2015 my AMH level was 15.7 last year November my AMH was 5.7 I’m 39 this year . They say my is low so yours I think is still good despite your age . I wouldn’t worry but is always good to ask someone who knows more about it xx
When I got my AMH back I remember googling like a maniac, convinced it was too high convinced my ovaries were gonna hyper stimulate then when I discussed results with the consultant he said they were completely normal and I felt better and like I maybe got carried away. For what it’s worth I got given a little graph and that number looks completely right for your age on it so please don’t be disheartened or over google like me as when you see the consultant they probably won’t have a single concern about it 😊. Good luck x
Hey my AMH was 7.19 when I was 38. I was also told it was in normal range....what they don't say is for your age. Unfortunately the older we get the lower our AMH gets. However AMH is just to give the clinic an idea of what protocol to put you on drugs wise. I've seen ladies with lower levels have success, unfortunately not me but try not to focus on that....we're all different!xx
Thank you. Fingers crossed it’s enough. Thanks for replying, means a lot to have some positivity. So sorry you’ve not had success but sending lots of baby dust to you xx
My AMH was 8.4 at age 27! With some improvements to my diet and regular reflexology it went up to 11.6. I’ve also heard of people trying acupuncture to help improve theirs too if you are worried xx
Aw thank you, five years of heartache... worth every second! I feel blessed and so lucky everyday xxx
My AMH was 20 when I was 36 it’s now 10.4 at age 38 4 months old this is a decline but a normal range AMH 6.2 is reasonably good I’m thinking my AMH will be around 5.5 when I’m 40
I had 0.94 at almost 39 (last year), with one ovary. Ivf doctor said though my ovary looked better than amh (could see 8 little follicles at scan) and half a year later when i did my first ivf (short protocol) I had at the end 5 follicles, all with eggs, 4 fertilized and 2 made it to 5 day blastocist, one implanted & froze the other one So it’s also about quality.
My OBGYN told me that she has a patiant that got pregnant with 0.02 amh...
It all depends on your age and lifestyle etc. Dont panic if your clinic are happy with that number go with that.
My AMH came back at 42 (I'm 29) and my clinic are mega freaking out I'm going to get OHSS so I would be preferred a slightly lower number to stop all mine and the clinics worrying! Some clinics dont even take an AMH test and go for it blind so it's so much better they can tell you exactly what dose meds etc you'll be on. More accuracy will hopefully mean a better result. Good luck!
