Can you request smear test early due to ivf?

Im due to start ivf in april but my smear test isnt due until june my nurse at my surgery said i couldnt have it any earlier but im wondering would the clinic want me to try to have it early just incase?

You can't request to have this done early through the NHS. The only option would be to have it done privately. I can't imagine your clinic will request it if your last one was ok and you're up to date which to obviously are. Cross that bridge if it comes to it!xx

When I started ivf the clinic asked to see the follow up letter from my last smear to it was okay. If you're still within the normal time frame I'm sure they won't insist you get one done early.

If your clinic want you to have it done I'm sure they will do it for you. My last smear was done by the fertility clinic as it was due roughly at the same time

Oh and don't get a smear done too soon after IVF as it can give incorrect results. If you have a chemical or a miscarriage it can take 3 months for the hormones to leave your system. Before this time, smears are known to come back with false results for abnormal cells. Not only is that a worry you do not want, but that definitely will delay fertility treatment

Hi I had a smear as a hysteroscopy but then kept getting repeat letters. My GP surgery had to put it down on a form to request it and explain I was due to start IVF but I remember them saying it might not get accepted because was in date. All was fine though.

It seems like a tick box exercise to make sure your in date (which sounds like you are) but could you speak to your clinic to see what to do if you become mid-treatment?
