Frazzled by my follicles

Hi everyone

Not posted before, but having looked at posts from past etc, I couldn’t see what i was looking for so thought i’d ask again.

I’m 37 been ttc for 2/3yrs. Male fertility is a known factor but now starting to think i may have a factor too. I have a AMH of 7 and 7 follicles. Started LP (1st cycle) on 30.12.18 and now on day 10 of stims. Had last scan today and only 2 follicles are ready with the other 5 not responding well. So one is 19, other is 22 and then its 12 with the rest under 10 i think. Poor show really!!! Bloody useless 😩

Clinic thinks it’s best we go now with trigger tonight and EC on friday. I kinda agree, but i’m very conscious that my chances of having any eggs is slim to nothing.

Anyone else experienced something similar?

Hi MissJos, you can have a read on my profile. You only need one good quality egg so keep those fingers crossed. I’m booked in for egg collection too on Friday! Presuming they’ll do ICSI for you on Friday? Xx

Thanks! Go team follicles! I had one at 12 on Monday and by today it was at 17mm. 5mm in 2 days....imagine?! So those little ones have a good chance of catching up! Best of luck for Friday. Fingers & toes crossed! 🤞🏻😘

I have an amh of 3 and on my last cycle I only had 2 viable follicles. We got 2 eggs and one perfect embryo with a BFP. Very sadly I did miscarry at 11 weeks but I'm happy that one embryo did result in a pregnancy. Like jengi said, it only takes one. Good luck for Friday. X

I only had one the right size and the rest were behind! They decided I should trigger anyway and luckily by Collection day the others had caught up! So try not to worry too much xx

Good luck babe . I only had 2 follicles. One was good other not great but have my son from that now . So very very possible. 😘😘😘😘

I always had a very small amount of follicles and with the treatment that gave us our daughter we had one. Keep hoping.xx

Can I ask how much stim medication you are taking? Is it injection or tablet form? I've been doing ovulation induction for 3 months with 100 units of gonal-f each month and produced around 3 follicles, 1 or 2 usually dominant. But no success yet.

Hi mrroth85. I’m injecting 300iu of meriofert daily, but to no avail really. Have you been on this? Apologies for my ignorance but what is ovulation induction? Sorry to hear that you’ve not had any success yet. I’m not holding out for anything from this cycle 😩

Hi MissJos, thanks for replying! No, I've not been on meriofert - just gonal-f injections so far. Ovulation induction is basically the first part of a regular IVF cycle whereby you inject yourself to produce follicles and trigger ovulation, but then try to conceive naturally through timed intercourse. I have a really low AMH aswell - I had chemotherapy so my ovaries seem to have taken a bit fo a hit. Meeting with doc next week to discuss what are next option is. Best of luck to you!
