Feeling really disappointed with myself

Hey all,

Thank you for all your advice & comments on my last post about my reaction to the antibiotics, we have been on them for just over a week now but I have reacted so badly they have advised me to stop taking everything. First of all it started as terrible heartburn but now it’s turned into awful pressure on my back & chest like someone is standing on me to a point where it feels I could burst yesterday, now it’s progressed to the constant pressure but then every few minutes even harder up under my diaphragm & I can’t breathe. This happens if I talk, bend down, swallow any food or drink. So I know I really should stop taking them, the problem is I feel like I’ve failed & that if I needed them before to help us conceive then by not taking them I’m not going to sort out the reason why we had to take them in the first place?!!

I’m going all kinds of crazy 🤦🏻‍♀️ Xx

You haven’t failed. From experience, acid heartburn can be truly horrendous. You tried your best- that’s all any of us can do. Well done for trying. Xxx

The most important thing is that you're safe and well, you've tried really hard and thats all that matters x

So sorry to hear. You’re not a failure for sure but have tried hard despite suffering.

Were you taking them after a meal? Or on empty stomach?

you can also get different brands of doxy. Maybe worth asking your clinic about a different brand. But check with doctor first as your reaction sounds very unpleasant and you need to stay healthy

Take care xx

Thank you, to start with it was on an empty stomach but then they told me to change to 30 mins after a meal but I think the damage had been done by then. I’m speaking to them today so hopefully will get some answers as to what to do next. Xx
