This is my first round of ivf, after having 19 eggs at egg collection only one was fertilised and this is being transferred tomorrow.
Then the dreaded 2ww. Seems a lot of people on here took the time off work but I have no holiday as have started a new job. Am a bit nervous as do get easily stressed and anxious sometimes, but this is no worse at work than home if I'm honest. What do people think?
Also any advice of food, drink and exercise for 2ww would be much appreciated xx

I was at work during my 2ww which helped a lot tbh. I bought a pineapple and cut it into four pieces and ate a piece each day after transfer. I also dranknlots of water, squash and a glass of pomegranate juice each day and a glass of while organic milk- at different time as not to make myself sick. I also ate 3 Brazil.nuts a day and a small.portion of beetroot for iron and I also had marmite on toast for vitamin b. I don't know for aure if it helped but I did get my bfp. Good luck xx
If Im honest Im starting to think all of this is down to luck! Ive done all sorts for my 2ww, time off work, being at work, relaxing in the sun....nothing has worked so far! Everything in moderation diet wise and try to get some gentle exercise such as going for a walk in the evening which is good for relaxation and getting the blood going. Good luck!xx
Thank you all you lovely ladies. I love pineapple so that will not be a hardship, although I'm not good at chopping them so hoping the pre-cut chunks will be as good.
Definitely going to do the walks. So worried as really was not ready to start but as NHS funded this was the cycle I had to start by to keep funding. Not quite managed to completely give up my e-cig or fully come off my a anti-depressants yet and feel guilty but giving it a go anyway.
Good luck hunny, I’m afraid you’ll have to sharpen your knife skills 😊 you need to eat the core of the pineapple as sadly the pre-chopped ones don’t normally include it as it’s a bit tough, but that’s where the best bit is for you x x
Cool cool, needs some new knife for new kitchen anyway, the ones I have are ancient and were not amazingly great quality to start off with! Thank you xx
Depends what will work for you!!! I tried working through my first 2ww but ended up getting signed off as ended up so on edge (job can be physically full on anyway)!!! Second time round was signed off anyway for the duration of the process. The key for me was to keep my mind busy with distractions. I had a list of things to do and each morning would decide what to do depending what I felt like.
Play it by ear and do what's right for you. Good luck x
Hey, honey. I hope you're alright. This is exciting times. I know the two-week wait can be a mess. But, this is great news! I'm really happy for you. You know, the doctor really helped me out when I went for it. He told me that either I can nervous or I can be excited. It's up to me. I was a bit realistic about my chances. I did not increase my expectations. Which helped me a lot. Good luck to you. I really hope it works out for you. My prayers are with you!
Hello. This is a tough time for you. But my prayers are with you. You can do this, honey. I'm sure it'll happen to you. Just don't lose hope, okay? But look at it by being positive! This is exciting! Good luck!!
Thanks again, all done now and back home. Im back to work Tuesday, think this will be better for me so I don't just sit and think, will just have to avoid stress as best I can.
Hi, glad it went ok. Hope you get some mindful relaxation between now and work on Tuesday. I’m looking forward to going on walks and resting in between. K x
Good luck! At least you’ve got the long weekend- I didn’t go to work during my 2ww’s but I have a very physical job - if I didn’t I defo think being at work would be better for me as I drive myself quite mad at home! And became paranoid about everything! 🤦🏼♀️... but as someone else said I honestly think it’s down to luck- but all it takes is one lucky one! Hope yours is! Fingers crossed for you x
