I think I may have asked these questions previously, but I can’t remember. Apologies if I’m repeating myself.
So I’m day 3 post embryo transfer (3rd cycle) Alter my 2nd cycle I ate fairly normally & tried to carry on my routine as usual (whilst taking care)
I’m still doing so this time around really, however I had a pretty traumatic time after egg collection this time around, and was quite poorly and in a lot of pain. So I just thought I’d ask for any advice available.
What foods do you recommend? I’m a fish lover, so are salmon and prawns okay to eat?
Did anyone take paracetamol during the 2WW?
And I’ve been drinking decaf tea and coffee, but should I cut down? I read it’s okay, but just want opinions of those who are/have gone through this themselves.
I've been told that at this point, it’s unlikely many of my choices will make a difference now, but I just wondered what choices others have made and if anyone recommends anything in particular during the 2WW?
Thank you and best wishes to everyone on this journey x

Re salmon - 2 portions of oily fish per week is good but avoid smoked salmon. I am unsure about prawns as I don't eat them.
Paracetamol is okay in pregnancy so is okay in 2ww.
You can even have "normal" tea and coffee I think at 200mg a day, but I too moved to decaf whenever I had a transfer. Just do what feels right for you.
Other recommendations for 2ww are to try and keep yourself busy. Have things booked in your diary so you are distracted. As it can be a truly tough time
During my TWW I cut out a lot of sugary food and stuck to lots of healthy options - fish I had twice a week (either cod, salmon or seabass) with things like kale, broccoli and had plenty of fruit (berries in particular) and also snacked on nuts/seeds.
I also drank lots of water and if I had tea or coffee it was decafe (but again tried to cut that out).
The two weeks feel like the longest wait ever. My doctor said to listen to what my body tells me (within reason of course). If you crave a certain food, eat it that day. If you need a nap, take it.
I also followed the link that someone shared about pre and post transfer diet.
I have consciously been eating more nuts, avocado, berries and drinking hot water with lemon and ginger. I completely cut out caffeine a month prior to the transfer. Many people recommend making lifestyle changes 3 months prior to starting IVF, but it’s not always possible.
Most importantly is to keep yourself busy, stress-free and be kind to yourself.
hope you are doing well girl! i've read that pomegranate helps with blood circulation which helps for the uterus to get all it needs from the blood. ''good' fat are also recommended, like avocado, nuts, or sesame. My docotr also told me to eat lots of eggs and full fat diary products for my ovaries to heal after the egg retrieval. But as you said, all this won't change the outcome, it is a way for you to be and feel healthier and stronger. My advice to you won't be that no matter what happens don't ever think that you did something wrong.
