Good luck for tomorrow! Fill your bladder ready for your appointment as mine wasn't full enough and I had to drink water and wait! To be honest I went shopping after mine as I thought I'd go crazy sitting around for that day and two weeks after! I just went about life normally and just avoided the gym - that's all! X

I just took it easy for 2 days and then went back to my normal routine but avoided lifting etc. Good luck tomoro nice full bladder x

I was very overwhelmed after my transfer so me and my OH just went home and relaxed watching a movie. The 2ww I am halfway through and have had time off work so I don’t stress too much. Everyone is different but just do what you feel comfortable with. Good luck x

Unfortunately I didn’t get to transfer, so can’t offer any advice! But I know a lot of ladies take a whole day to just chill & relax (easier said than done!). There’s also this tradition I’ve seen on some forums and on Instagram, where women get McDonads fries right after transfer 😂🍟 xx

Oh! And best of luck 🤞🏽💕

Had my transfer today. All went smoothly. 2 blastocysts on board 😃.

I had acupuncture pre and post transfer. Then my hubbie and I went shopping and out for lunch! I think we both feel such relief we’ve got this far.

I then went to a friends house for dinner and a girly catch up and giggle. Trying to be “normal” 😝.

Good luck tomorrow x

How did you manage to get 2? They’ve told me one only 😩 that sounds like perfection! Xx

It’s very much down to age.

If you’re under 35 they don’t offer two blastocysts as the risk of twin pregnancy is so high. The chance of pregnancy in an under 35 year old with a single blastocyst is considerably better than over 35.

I’m over 35 so can have two as there’s a very low risk both will implant but it helps my overall chance of pregnancy x

Hi Jen. We are about to have the discussion with our Doctor about one or two tomorrow. We really want two but the doctor keeps encouraging one. I am 38. Did you have to have just discussion or argue the case for two? We have followed their advice the first time which failed with one and like you said we are trying to increase our chance of implantation. Would appreciate knowing x

The embryologist only wanted me to have one on my second round when I was 38 but I insisted on two and the consultant backed me up. The second one would not have been good enough to freeze so I said I wanted it to die inside me instead of in the lab- this argument seemed to work. However if your second one is freezable then I would freeze it rather than have it put back, there is some suggestion that frozen cycles might be more likely to work as less harsh on your body and I also since read something that having a non viable embryo put back with a viable embryo can make both more likely to fail but I’m not sure how scientific this was and can’t remember where I read it- might be worth questioning.

Thanks for that Lizzie. We were fortunate enough to have 5 good ones frozen after our first failed to implant. I keep reading but it's all so conflicting. I just want us to have the best chance of at least getting pregnant like everyone. Thanks for sharing your experience and advice. Not sure how our discussions will go tomorrow x

Hi Minnie79 - the doctors and embryologist recommended it. We were open minded when we went in and then discussed it with them. Their reasoning was very clear so we both were happy and went for it. Our team was happy too!

Our little blastocysts were reasonable quality but not top grade so they felt the chance of a twin pregnancy were very low but by putting 2 back it would boost our chances of a singleton pregnancy by 5% or so.

If you’ve a top grade blastocyst it may not make a difference??! But I’m not expert.

Def argue your case though. You have to feel happy and confident. Best of luck xx

in reply toJenRoy

Thanks Jen. We are lucky to have 5 top quality currently frozen. Our only worry is that even though this was the case last time it failed. Just trying to getting as much information as we can as our next transfer will be in a few weeks. Good luck to you to x

Hi Jen, I’m just about to start my treatment and I wondered about how many they would put back in. I’m 37 and so thought they might suggest 2. I’m going to Glasgow Royal. Is your treatment through nhs? Xx

Yes, NHS. It all comes down to the day of transfer. How many embies you have, what day they’ve reached (day 5 blastocyst or day 3), their grade, your age, your medical history etc.

Your doctor and embryologist will advise you on the day.

We went with the flow as so many hurdles to get over before transfer day.

On the day we went with what the team thought would give us the best chance of a pregnancy 🙏🙏🤞🤞🍀🍀xx

Thank you so much, all went well in the end despite my oversleeping, not realising the time when I was on here this morning & my bladder being completely empty when I arrived at the clinic! Xxx

I actually went back to work and carried on as normal for the next 2 weeks.

As has been said, just do what you’re comfortable doing

Good luck! x

Good luck for tomorrow try your best to relax! And just rest and take it nice and easy x

I also had 2 embies put back in on day 3. The first evening i relaxed and meditated. The following day i was back in work and had acupuncture that night. I was in work for 1 week and off work the 2nd week. Just took it easy the 2nd week. Both good quality 8 celled embryos but unfortunately they didnt work as i got my period also my boobs stopped being tender 1 week into my 2ww so i knew it hadnt worked 1 week in. My advice would be carry on as normal. What will be will be. Good luck X 🍀🍀🍀🍀
