I have unexplained infertility. Had 1 fresh transfer and 1 frozen - both unsuccessfully. I have 6 remaining frozen embryos. I’m 34 and my consultant has advised to have 2 put back which is next Thursday. The nurses are a bit funny about it and keep warning me about the risks of multiple pregnancy and they are making me a bit on edge.
Does anyone have any experience with this that can help?

I wish I’d put 2 in yrs ago!!! All friends snd family that have had success told me to go for 2 but I was too scared. In March we transferred 2 and 1 baby boy on board 🙏🏼 Thanks other twin didn’t make it ‘they call it a vanishing twin’ because you could see the extra sac but it was empty, it dissolved a few weeks later. I believe they help each other. Good luck xxx
Hopefully there is a good reason that your consultant is suggesting two rather than one (maybe because it is your third try) .. the success rate for two vs one is not that much higher but there are increased risks to your health with a twin pregnancy. I would ask the consultant why they are recommending two so you can make an informed decision. If you have two transferred then you should be prepared for a twin pregnancy. Good luck with whatever you decide! X
I'm 35 . Had fet and put back my last two.im currently in my last month of pregnancy with a boy. I really didn't think much about it. I just went with what my doctor advised and put back two.
Hi Apdp. Your specialist wants the best chance for you, and I'm sure he/she wouldn't take such a decision lightly. A double transfer is often reserved for those who have had two unsuccessful transfers, so maybe this is the way to go for you. Nobody can tell you whether both embryos will implant, but at 34 you are young enough and hopefully healthy enough to carry a twin pregnancy if they do. Good luck with your decision - and for success. Diane
