Hi guys - am new here - my IVF journey so far...

Hi guys, thought I'd post about my journey so far. Just finished our first fresh icsi cycle which ended with a bfn. I was so stressed throughout the whole cycle and totally underestimated how hard it was going to be both physically and mentally! Some days I couldn't even walk properly due to the progesterone injections!! Have picked myself up and dusted myself off and am staying positive for the next round. Have decided to download a mindfulness app and start acupuncture. Anyone have any other tips? Not sure if it'll be a FET (we have 8 frozen embies) next time round or another fresh cycle (appointment with consultant next week to discuss), but hearing any success stories after first failed round would be much appreciated. Thanks x

Sorry to hear about your first cycle. I’m just about to embark on my second round of icsi after my first ended in a BFN at the beginning of May and trying to stay positive and hoping for some good luck this round!! When are you starting your next cycle? Maybe we will be cycle buddies! It’s good that you have 8 frozen - I found the frozen transfer process a lot easier to manage (aside from the TWW obviously!) so maybe you will find it better too!

I found the Mindful IVF app really useful for a fresh round and also for the TWW so would definitely recommend that! Acupuncture is great too so sounds like you have a good plan to try to relieve a little of the stress. I also found reflexology helped me to relax. Would be interested in everyone else’s suggestions too! xx

Hi, thanks for your message :-) I'm not sure when we will be starting our next cycle - will hopefully know more next week (our appointment is next Thursday), so I will keep you posted.

I will definitely try the Mindful IVF app - it's great to have a recommendation. I may also try reflexology (if my funds can stretch to it!!)

When does your next cycle start? Is it a fresh one? Wishing you loads of luck :-) x

Yes, it can be a bit challenging finding funds for all the good things we can do can’t it! I was lucky as my acupuncturist does reflexology during the session so I get two with one payment! Maybe you can find someone who offers the same!

We have our next appointment on Wednesday so will know more about when we will be starting then. I’m hoping beginning of July or August but will see what they recommend. We are going into another fresh cycle as we don’t have anymore frozen embies unfortunately.

Good luck for your appointment too and hope the wait goes quickly! Here’s to successful rounds! 🤞🙏🏻xx

Hi caza, I’m sorry to hear about your bfn, wishing you well for your next round.

As for the progesterone injections, I’m

On pessaries - could you change into those might be less stressful, certainly less painful. Good luck xx

Hi, thanks for the well wishes 😊 I’m certainly going to ask if I can try another form of progesterone as I really struggled with the injections. That said, if it has to be injections again then I will at least be prepared for what’s in store for me.

Good luck for your cycle x

I often think you should be able to do a test run on ivf before the real thing! Good luck with your next round. xx

hey there! I hope you are doing great! TTC is one of the hardest things a woman has to go through. I miscarried twice. the first time it was due to my careless attitude and it was really painful. the second time I thought about going for surrogacy. but it was really painful and we couldn't make the decision. I TTC again and this time I got into a car accident after taking care for 6 months in pregnancy. it was a painful period. all our dream were shattered. i used to be sick all the time and in pain. we went for IVF, IVF proved amazing. although it was a painful process we made is successful. its all about the right clinic and good care.
