So I've spent the last week in hospital with severe pain vomiting and fever and after few scans it showed enlarged ovaries and free fluid around them.
Previous to last week I had no symptoms the odd cramp which wasn't too strange for early pregnancy . Ohss seem to come from no where. Apparently it gets worse after a positive result due to hormones.
I'm so grateful that I got the BFP just wasn't prepared for this.
Has any one found themselves in a similar position how long does this last for. The pain is so bad im really struggling .😭

Hi AnneXmarie. This is so unfortunate, but can rarely happen. I assume as you are now out of hospital, they are happy that your OHSS has started to settle a bit. Just rest when you can and keep up with drinking plenty of water. If you haven’t been prescribed any analgesia, then it’s ok to take regular paracetamol. No anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Hopefully in the next week or two all will be back to what it should be again, apart from morning sickness which will start about now, if you get it. Thinking of you. Diane
Thankyou Diane yes they prescribed coedine and paracetomol and anti sickness pills and I have to go back for regular scans to keep an eye on the fluid in my abdomen . I was taking oramorph in hospital but I need to manage pain on my own now everything hurts including sneezing😖.
Hopefully you will start to reabsorb the fluid which will make you feel better. Perhaps it’s an omen and little one is going to be an Olympic swimmer!! Be better soon. Diane
