hi everyone has anyone suffered or read much about ohss during pregnancy? I went for a scan yesterday 6w+4 everything seems fine baby measured 6w+3 🫶🏽🌈 but I’m suffering from ohss my ovaries r massive and full of follicles. My stomach is so swollen and tight. It’s manageable but just wondering if I can do anything…. I’m not in pain just a little uncomfortable. I was enjoying the swollen stomach thinking it could be baby. Obviously I have got lost in google and now slightly worried. Thank you in advance x x

Hi Hopedream. Please refer yourself to your GP so you can be checked. Good luck! Diane

Hi Hopedream, I find myself in a similar position as you were with the discovery of mild ohss at a scan I had on Wednesday (I’m 5w+4 today) and like you I thought the bloating was baby related.

Hoping your symptoms have eased, I am feeling a bit less tension in my stomach and my weight doesn’t seem to be changing so perhaps I’m on the mend now, but that makes me worried that I don’t have enough. HCG for it to be exacerbated and does that mean the embryos are not doing so well 🤯 honestly I’m just torturing myself with « what if » 😓

This process is the hardest thing ever 🙈

my clinic hasn’t been worried at all, and said it won’t effect pregnancy the said that the empty follicles will be giving offf progesterone (so that’s good I think) I had a scan at 6w+4 & 7w+6 and everything was perfect with baby and said my stomach should settle by 12 weeks…. I have another scan at 9w+4 so hopefully everything is still growing and shrinking nicely. It is such a hard time! I would have a scan every day if I could! How you feeling now? Xx

oof I know, any reassurance from a blood test or scan last about 6 hours 😂

Im alright thanks, 6w exactly today and I have my second viability scan on Friday at 6w+4. Terrified of a negative outcome whilst trying to balance my awareness that there is nothing to be done to influence it.

That’s a great point about the progesterone, I hadn’t thought of that - I stopped progesterone abruptly on OTD and which seemed unusual but is the protocol of my clinic. So perhaps my body is picking up the slack 😬 I felt bloated yesterday and a few very mild cramps, further ambiguous data that tells me very little about what’s actually going on in there 😜

Great that all of your scans went well, I am looking for the same kind of reassurance this week after last week's scares. Are your scans at 7 and 9 weeks typical for your clinic or are you having a bit more attention paid due to your circumstances?

no I’m a nervous wreck (after previous missed miscarriage) so I keep having private scans. One of my scans was with my clinic at 7w+6 and they signed me off and told me to wait on my 12w scan. They was very reassuring and told me not to worry but as you know it’s easier said than done. Hopefully when we get to 12 weeks we can relax a little. Keep me posted when you get your scan lots of baby dust xxxx

oh I’m sorry, and yes can totally understand why you want the reassurance. I long to be at 12 weeks 😬 though knowing myself, once I get there I’ll long for 20 weeks or more 🙄

I’ll keep you posted on the scan, trying to keep my brain busy until then consuming box sets and working 🙈 xx

Hi I'm not pregnant but suffer with this before my period to the point where I cant bend over .... have anything tight around my stomach the pain is unbelievable.

I was told that ypu can only get this of you have PCOS .. but I've never had a pcos diagnosis just pmdd.

Do you have pcos? If you dont mind me asking or do you know if this is true?
