Cramping at 6 weeks Pregnant

Has anyone else experienced cramping in the evenings and throughout the day at 6 weeks pregnant?

I had cramping a few days after my transfer and it eased off but now it’s coming back.

Could this be a bad sign?

Hi there! I haven’t got any advice, just empathy :) I’m 5 weeks and have the same. Nearly every day, a few times a day I get the feeling like I’m getting a period - but nothing yet 🤞🏻

I’ve read the blogs endlessly and as with all aspects of fertility, there seems to be no answer as we’re all so different! Positive reports of ligaments stretching, embryo burying more deeply, but then also early signs of miscarriage. I think we just have to keep the faith until proven otherwise 💪🌈💫

Hi there! Yeah I’ve heard so many different reasons of what the cramps could be, hopefully they settle soon. Wishing you all the best❤️❤️

Hi lovely, yes I have been same since the day before my positive test. Scan showed everything is good so far so take the cramping as a good sign. Mine was never painful just felt like my period was coming. I would take this as a positive. Is your scan soon xxx

Hi there! My cramps have been on and off. They were quite painful last night and about lunch time today, just hoping everything is okay. My scan is a week Tuesday. Feels like ages away :( xxx

Hi Bhfd. Make sure you don't get constipated, as motions passing by your ovaries can be sore. Make sure you drink plenty of water and have a rest when you can. Keep an eye on your urine output just in case you could have a bit of an infection. Hope it soon gets better. Diane

Hi congratulations on your positive test! I had cramping throughout my whole IVF pregnancy and it was never a sign of anything bad. Some people just have cramps and some don’t. But it is particularly scary after having to go through so much to get pregnant. I also found the cramps were worse when I tried things like pregnancy yoga/pelvic floor exercises so I didn’t do these activities until very late in the pregnancy due to fear. Mention the cramps to your midwife still though. They will be interested in how often you have the cramps and how long they last, plus what the pain feels like, so you could note this info down over the next few weeks so you feel confident you are doing all you can to care for your baby. Best of luck xx

Hi There! Thank you for your message, yeah I’ve read online you should be having mild cramps and I feel like mine get quite strong and painful. I’m hoping that it’s nothing to worry about :( I’ve found that if I go up and down the stairs a lot I get pains as well. That’s a good idea- I think I’ll keep a note of everything xxx

Hello, I'm 8 weeks and I get dull cramps every single day, especially at night. I don't know why, it could be the meds. Had a scan on Monday and everything looked fine. Are you on hormones?

Hi there! Yeah my cramps get worse at night too, they’ve only got really bad the last few days. I’m currently on Progynova so I suppose that could cause some of the pains. Xx

I put my cramps down to my uterus growing - I've had two scans in a week now and it's definitely bigger in the second one! So I see my cramps as a good thing and that it's my baby growing in her space. I do also have a Subchorionic Hematoma so sometimes I think it's that too and try to move in to a different position to ease it. Oh - and my doc reminded me I have a small fibroid just outside my uterus which will cause pain apparently. :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy💕 yeah I’ve found that lying on my back helps with the pain. I didn’t think the cramps could get so strong:(
