Unwanted test Results :(

Hey all.

Just want to know if anybody is in the same boat as me! we had our fertility clinic today. Tests and results in one. Once all done, went and sat in waiting room anxiously waiting to find out the results. My Husband has 2 Children (boys) from a previous marriage who are now in their late teens. So we were VERY Shocked to find out that my husband has 0 sperm Count!!!

we had the blood tests for the Pituitary Gland and the Hormone levels. Fingers crossed its as easy an hormonal balance and can be corrected.

Anybody else have this and how have you gone about it?

Thanks

Hello amyled25, we found ourselves in the same position only my DH didn’t have any previous children. We went through another two sperm tests, ultrasounds and blood tests and we were diagnosed with a production problem. We have been given a 50/50 chance of them finding sperm through a procedure called Micro tesse where they go into the testicles to look for sperm. Your situation sounds a lot more positive than ours as your DH has already fathered two children so hopefully it can be easily sorted. I wish you lots of luck on your journey xx

Thank you Thegirl 84. It wasn't the results we were expecting. i thought it was with myself as nothing had ever happened so that's what we were expecting, or at least for him to have LOW sperm count.

Hopefully end of week we have blood results back which will tell us what procedure to go through next. They did say it was a mystery. as we have never had any problems. It cant be nice for him. bless him. i have seen that having a no sperm count is rare. only 5% of men suffer this, but the amount of reviews i have read today must seem alot more than that!?

They did say there was a procedure where they can go in the testes and draw sperm out and freeze them ready for IVF. they did mention a Donor, but i don't think i could go down that route, i want my partners baby not a donor. its very hard! best thing is not to think about it too much until we have results. strange how all of a sudden not working but hopefully its pretty straight forward xx

My friend’s partner had two zero tests, then one with minimal sperm, then one in the thousands once he stopped doing night shift. And then they suddenly fell pregnant naturally. So I’d say make sure they do some more sperm tests over time as it can be affected by all sorts of things including illness.

Thanks for this. Gives me some hope. he has been really run down lately so maybe that was why and he certainly wasn't comfortable or happy giving the sample so maybe thats what it was also. suppose stress works the same for men as women. Hopefully its a slight problem that can be fixed :) x

Nothing of this kind, hun. I'm sorry. I cannot be of much hope here. But for me it does sound strange your dh has now no viable sperm..Have never heard of such outcomes when male with proven fertility..Just wanted to wish you the best with your further steps. Good luck!
