Injection dose mix up

I’ve egg collection tomorrow and worried sick! 2 nights ago I went to give myself 150 Bemfola & 300 Menopur as advised. I’d never been told to do this dose before, it’s always been 225 + 225. When I opened the Bemfola pen it was a 300iu and didn’t go down to 150. I panicked! I called the emergency number and the nurses couldn’t help me & only advised to wait to morning. I new this was the one thing not to do! I asked if there was a consultant on call and thankfully the consultant on call was a actually a fertility consultant. Without knowing my history, he advised to take 225 Bemfola & 300 Menopur. I never actually spoke to him directly. The next morning a nurse from the fertility clinic called me and got me a prescription for my next 150 Bemfola. She told me if the consultant said it was ok to take 225 + 300 then it will be ok. Honestly, I don’t feel confident at all and so worried I will ovulate early or something. I’ve only 1 follicle, I don’t want to loose it. I’ve barely slept these last two nights. I just want to know the follicle is there and nothing has happened to it. Last night was my last injections: cetrotide, 150 Bemfola and 2 Ovitrelle (trigger shot). Tomorrow (Mon) morning can’t come quick enough, it’s going to be a long day Xx

You won’t ovulate early as you are on the cetrotide. The clinic normally errs on the side of caution anyway so a tiny bit higher probably isn’t going to have much effect on you- the main thing to worry about would be overstimulation but with one follicle that sounds unlikely. Easier said than done but try not to worry xxxx good luck tomorrow

You really will be ok, the cetrotide will help stop you ovulating, it’s not a massively bigger dose that you took. I totally understand your fear as I always worry I’m going to ovulate early, I won’t even put anything after trigger and like to just lie around xx

Thanks to those that reassured me, it means a lot. My consultant emailed me back this morning and gave me these magic words "A small dose difference will not impact on my cycle at all". I can not tell you how much better I feel already! Phew!

Hi Orla, Perfect timing, ive just posted! They got an egg from my one follicle. Feeling ok, bit weapy. Did you have egg collection today too? How’d it go? Xx

It went fine! I didn’t really have any sedation, just a tiny bit so I feel pretty ok. They got one from my massive lead follicle, and 2 others caught up so 3 total. Fingers crossed for us both for tomorrow’s call!xx
