My wife and I have just had our first round of IUI, we had a positive pregnancy test but sadly a couple of days in it seems to be failing, bloods have shown a HCG levels have dropped from 43 to 38 over 48 houra and my wife is having a period. Our clinic are making us wait another 4 days before another blood test and deciding what our next step is. Obviously we're devastated that our joy was incredibly short lived. Just wondering if other people have had a similar experience and what happened next, another round of IUI or was IVF recommended?
I never knew this community was here! So glad I've found it.

Hi Claire, i’m So sorry to hear this! It has happened 3 times consecutively to me and it’s devastating because you have the joy but it’s so short lived. Have a chat with your clinic to make sure your wife has had all her tests and no undiagnosed issues (mine were thyroid and blood clotting) and then you just have to keep on trying and you will get there. Once my thyroid was under control and I was put on Clexane 40 my next transfer was successful. Wishing you the best of luck xxx
We are but trying to focus on the positives. We got pregnant with a sperm sample that was apparently very poor (not poor enough to abandon the cycle) so the getting pregnant part was a a bit unexpected. Right now though we just feel incredibly sad x
Yes you will be sad but hopefully you will still get your dream to come true look after each other sending love x
So sorry to hear this but I couldn't not post anything. Sending you big hugs and I really hope it works better next time. I really don't k ow how, but we all get the strength from somewhere to try again. You will have your miracle, you have just had your practice run. Xx
Thank you for your kindness, honestly I'm so glad I've discovered this community just to be able to have people who relate to what this journey feels like emotionally. We are allowing ourselves time to feel sad, time for my wife to recover physically and then we'll go again xx
