BFN one day early

Hi All,

I’m 32 and had my embryo transferred on Monday 30th April, I wasn’t meant to test until day 11 (tomorrow Friday 11th May) however for some silly reason I tested today instead with a BFN.

Any likelihood the result might change tomorrow? My gut feeling is no.

Xx

Thanks Michelle, right now I feel like it’s the end of the road for this round. But I need to try and stay positive for one more day xx

All clinics vary - ours have told us to test after 13 days, & that was with a hatching blastocyst, so they obviously think that anything before that can be inaccurate. Keeping everything crossed for you Hun! 🤞🏼🤞🏼 xx

Hey Disney, yeah that’s true. I just hope something changes in the next 24 hours. Thank you 😘 x

My clinic wants 13 days too, and even then my friend only had a faint line and had to test again a day later.

I think there is still time for it to change, not that I want to get your hopes up but fingers crossed!xx

Thanks Cinderella, I’m trying to be positive but not get my hopes up too high xx

Hey! I had my transfer same day as you. I got a BFN yesterday and going to wait until tomorrow to do another one. My clinic told me earliest Sunday to test and have my bloodtest on Monday.

It is my first cycle so not mucb advice to give!

Just wanted you to know you are not alone!

Hoping you get a positive tomorrow.

Hey EB,

Honestly you don’t understand how much that makes me feel better. I’ve been an actual mess since I tested.

I find it so odd how the testing days are so different for each clinic.

This is also my first round. Did you have a Blastocyst Transfer?

Also my clinic haven’t mentioned anything about having a blood test.

Thank you so much, I also hope you get a positive on Sunday!

xx

in reply toBenita1986

Yes I was so low yesterday. But feel better today.

I want to wait and give myself a few days.

Try to stay calm - so funny I am saying that to you and I am a mess haha. 😅

Mine was a blasto 5 day. I didn't have a great cycle and not as many follicles developed as the doctor was expecting. I have 1 left in the freezer so will try that in a few months if this doesn't work. I think they undermedicated me tbh.

Do you have any frozen?

Sending positive vibes your way.

Well I was feeling terrible since I tested however I’ve had to put on a brave face since I walked back into the office.

I also blastocyst Transfer.

On the day of transfer I only had 2 viable embryos with 1 transferred. However the following day the clinic called to say 2 more had caught up and there were able to freeze. So in total we have 3 left.

Thank you so much for responding back, its really the only thing that has put my mind at rest a little.

Take it easy and sending positive vibes right back at you.

Hope it all goes well for you. I’ll give you an update on how tomorrow goes xx

in reply toBenita1986

You have some in the freezer so let that console you in the case this round doesn't work.

It is less of a wait for frozen embryo transfer through my NHS clinic anyway.

Best of Luck tomorrow!!! Hoping for a positive.

Hey Benita1986!

I just rang my clinic as I wanted to do an earlier blood test to get it over with! (I have no patience! ;) ) I am pretty much sure it is a negative as I tested again today with not even a faint line - I wanted to know for def before the weekend - So I can process it over the weekend and maybe have a wine! :)

I got told off by the nurse! She said sometimes the hormone levels do not rise up until much later for some women so I have to still keep taking my medicine and go on Monday as planned.....

Just wanted to let you know!

I felt like a child being told off at school! ;)

Hey EB,

Lol, don’t worry I think the closer the testing day the more impatient you become. Ahhh wine sound lovely 😊 although I guess you’ll need to sit tight until Monday. You never know!

I’m still surprised by how early my clinic have me testing compared to the advice you have been given.

I bought duo Clear Blue test kit during my lunch today, so maybe I’ll do a test tomorrow and depending on the result do another one on Monday too. And also see what the nurse advises tomorrow.

I have been showing your message to my husband and he thinks that you are very lovely 😊

Thanks for sharing that with me. I guess we can only keep positive and hope for the best over the next few days. If not we always have our little Frosties xx

First response early response tests are more sensitive than clear blue I believe- the rumour goes that the pink lines pick up more hcg than the blue ones... might be worth a try?

Really wishing you the best of luck 🙏🏼 My first transfer 2 years ago I got a bfn day 10 and a bfp day 11 post 5 day transfer. Really hope you do too!! Did you use a sensitive tests? First Response and Clearblue early detectors are really accurate and pick up tiniest amount of hcg xxx

Hi Natalia, thank you for your message. That’s really motivating, I can only hope it’s the same for me also 😬

I used the test provided to me by the clinic which is called Alere hCG Easy Test. I’ve never heard of it before, however I did go ahead a buy the Clear Blue Test for tomorrow. If it is a BFN I just hope I don’t feel as bad as I did today.

I hope all is going well with your journey x

in reply toBenita1986

All fingers and toes crossed for you!! Never heard of that test but Clearblue is v reliable 🙏🏼Xxx

Hi All,

Just to keep you all updated. I had another BFN this morning and from what I can tell I think AF is due.

Spoken to the clinic they haven’t mentioned anything about doing a blood test so they must be pretty certain that a negative is a negative. Next steps will be to discuss FET with the consultant.

I wish all you lovely ladies the best of luck and success going forward. EB I’ll have a glass of wine for you this weekend 😬

Thank you all for you messages and support xx

I’m sorry to hear that. I went through the same thing back in March except AF came on 9dp5dt (heavy and clots so It was definitely AF) and the clinic wouldn’t accept my ‘result’ and made me continue meds and test again on 15dp5dt (my OTD) 😤 it was so frustrating and sad.

Initially when I finally did get my follow up it was booked for May 3 but I insisted on getting a cancellation spot and said I didn’t need 4 weeks notice for an appointment. I got an appt much sooner (couldn’t believe how often there are cancellations), started FET on the next bleed and here I am with a BFP. I was worried I was starting too soon but I’m so glad I did. I know some clinics want you to wait longer between cycles but mine didn’t think it was needed.

I hope the same happens for you and you get your BFP with your frozen embryo. Best of luck xx

Hi ABCgirl,

Sorry for the delayed response. It’s been a crazy few days since we’ve had our bad news, so haven’t had the chance to catch up with the forum.

Aww I’m so happy for you ❤️ Echoing EB2001, it is a very uplifting and encouraging story!

We decided that we wanted to speak with the consultant before we start our next cycle as I have endometriosis. The scans didn’t pick up any abnormal growths however I’m thinking it might be better to have a laparoscopy to 100% rule that out? Also I want to find out if there’s anything else extra we can do to improve our chances. Hopefully it won’t be too long until we have our FET

Wishing you all the luck on your beautiful journey ahead xx

Just saw this - ah yes! I am having a date night tonight and dying for some treats and a big glass of wine!

Have you got a long wait for your frozen transfer?

Keep positive!
