Thank you very much xx

That’s extremely unlucky. Maybe list all the tests you have had on here, someone may be able to spot something that has been missed. Unfortunately there’s a lot of expertise around miscarriage on this site.

Fingers crossed that’s it for you and you will go on to have a happy and healthy pregnancy in future 🤞🏻💚

Thank you for your kind words.

After the 3rd miscarriage we were referred to the hospital by our GP. They firstly explained how common this was and that there are various tests that can do done. However, I may not find the route of the problem as they may not been one!

So, I had lots of blood taken that day and had to wait 4 weeks for the results; they tested me for a blood clotting disorder and various other things. I then awaited for an appointmentfor a hystrascopy (a camera in the womb) to check that my tubes and uterus looked healthy and that there was no signs of endometriosis or such like. This examination was very uncomfortable but the results were good! I had the all clear. Blood results came back... all clear!

So finally they wanted to check my thyroid and progesteone levels and a particular day of my cycle... these also came back clear.

I've been told that when we conceive again (this isn't a problem for us) to start taking 5mg of aspirin everyday until 8 weeks and I will have an early scan at the EPU. Continue taking my pregnancy vitamin and an extra dose of folic acid (which I have been for over a year).

Here's to good luck then girls 🌈🌈🌈

I'm sorry to hear about your losses Hun. I have had 2 mmc & I'm terrified I'm gonna be told I've had a 3rd mmc at my scan on Monday morning. I had a lot of tests & they did find a slight clotting issue which I'm on injections for but I've been a nervous wreck since my BFP. I hope you have just been unlucky & when you do concieve again you get your precious rainbow 🌈 baby. Xx

Ivf hasn't been suggested to me x

I’m so sorry to hear this and sorry you don’t have a clear answer to your suffering.

I had an early loss last July and I was told mine was “ bad luck” too but I haven’t had mc tests as it was only one.

I hear you had a hysteroscopy which is great to hear it was all clear but they cannot diagnosis endometriosis from a hysteroscopy unless it was in the uterus thank goodness it wasn’t 😘. To diagnose endometriosis properly you’d need to have a laparoscopy; I have endometriosis and I have had two ; the last one was with a hysteroscopy; my hysteroscopy was clear phew 😅 but the lap revealed more endometriosis and I had endometriosis treated again.

Have you considered looking at your NK cells? This has to be done privately as the NHS will not fund it but prescribe the prednisone for it if it’s too high; I had mine tested last year and it came back slightly raised at 12% under 10% is normal. It means I take prednisone during the 12 weeks of pregnancy. Word of warning tho do check which one your fertility specialist prefers ; the blood test or the biopsy; I had the blood test and my fertility specialist says the biopsy is more accurate as it’s the “affected” area. Some will prefer the blood test as it’s more consistent and doesn’t change month to month like your lining will. It’s a mind field!

I see they offered baby aspirin which can stop blood from clotting which is positive. 😊Have they offered progesterone pessaries; some say they don’t make a difference but I think if it can’t harm why not?! My fertility specialist has authorised to take those during first 12 week of pregnancy. He reviews on a case by case and decided it would be good idea for me to take them. I’m only ttc naturally.

Sadly they don’t always know the reason and it’s truly heartbreaking xoxo

Thank you for such a thorough reply xx

You've given me such a lot to think about. The fertility Drs have signed me of now and have said my progesterone levels all seemed fine? I was tested on day 21 of my cycle and the results came back good. I def don't have endometriosis as I have no symptoms of it. I'm quite well informed as my 2 best friends have it and it's bloody awful; I truly sympathise with you. Xx

in reply toMrs_Miscarriage3

Thank you.

You can have endometriosis without symptoms it is possible ; but tbh I think most women will have symptoms a lot of the ladies I speak to on endo UK do. It is not nice to have ☹️

My day 21 bloods have always been fine too; it’s always shown ovulation so I guess I’m lucky I’m mostly normal the only issue we have is my endo. The fact you have suffered 3 losses I think they should prescribe progesterone pessaries.; only a gynae can authorise that. I asked my GP when I had bleeding in my pregnancy ( which did led to a miscarriage) if she’d give me progesterone pessaries and believe me I argued hard haha I am a nightmare I was not going to take no for an answer 🤪!! In the end she agreed to clear it with a gynaecologist I think she just wanted to get me off the phone 😂; my fertility specialist assistant pooed pooed my idea and said it wouldn’t make any difference but ultimately the decision laid with my fertility specialist who agreed i could have progesterone pessaries for the first 12 weeks 😁 result! Like I said he reviews it case by case. My fertility specialist he’s amazing 😁I think I needed to know for peace of mind I was doing all I could.

Why has the fertility specialist discharged you? That’s awful xoxo

They've discharged me as they've completed all tests; nothing more than can do for me?! Xx

I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been through this, this journey is so cruel. I had four miscarriages and like you, all results were “normal’’. I kept pushing and they said I could go to a clinic in Coventry to be tested for natural killer cells. They do two biopsies of your womb lining and see how high your levels are. One of mine was normal, one was high, so on our next FET cycle I took steroids from the day of transfer.... and I’m now almost 30 weeks pregnant. It costs about £500 but is a drop in the ocean compared to what we’ve already paid for IVF etc. It’s so frustrating to be told you’re ‘normal’ when you know something isn’t right xxxx

This sounds so interesting, I defiantly need to find out more info on this xx

Sprinkles86 profile image
Sprinkles86 in reply toMrs_Miscarriage3

It’s very interesting, and much more accurate than having the blood test done. I’d also recommend getting a copy of a book called ‘is your body baby friendly’, which goes into this and other potential issues in more detail. I’ve found that arming myself with information has really helped me to push doctors who would have been quite happy to let us carry on doing cycle after cycle of IVF and FETs! Just message me if you want any details, when you feel you’re ready xxxx

Thank you! I'm currently reading one called - it starts with an egg. Probably similar to yours. It talks about what you eat, drink and expose yourself to in the house. We've already made lots of changes xxx

You've all been so kind and so helpful. From all the tests we've had I don't think that IVF is what we need as it's not been suggested. We seem to conceive quickly but have trouble getting past 5/ 6 weeks. I'm just hoping the baby aspirin does it's job! Xxx

in reply toMrs_Miscarriage3

So so sorry for your losses :( I too have suffered missed miscarriages, 6 pregnancy losses in total. Have any of them been tested for abnormalities? My first mmc was on nhs so didn’t know why, second time we went private and baby had trisomy 22, third time severely abnormal too. If you get pregnant naturally keep on, only advantage of ivf is genetic testing before embryos are put back (although it has its limitations too). It’s great you’ve both been tested thoroughly!! Progesterone pessaries do help and so far stopped me from losing my current pregnancy and aspirin Fantastic for circulation too. I wish you all the luck in the future xxx

Mrs_Miscarriage3 profile image
Mrs_Miscarriage3 in reply to

Hi! Yes we had the last miscarriage tested for chromosome abnormalities and it came back clear. Who did you ask about the pesaries? Do I just make a Drs app once I get pregnant again? The hospital have signed me off now, they've said there are no issues and to try again xx

in reply toMrs_Miscarriage3

Your hospital/ Consultant should be able to prescribe them as added support but maybe they feel you don’t need it as you’ve been fully tested. It’s annoying not having any answers but they are confident that you can get pregnant with ease and will be successful. Wishing you the best of luck xxx

Mrs_Miscarriage3 profile image
Mrs_Miscarriage3 in reply to

Thank you! To be honest, I do feel like they did every test etc but I'm also so scared about trying again as I don't want another miscarriage.

The only other thing that possibly affects my chances is my weight. The Drs are BMI obsessed but I know it can be a factor.

I've started avoiding aspartame and now only drink caffeine free drinks too! Xx

in reply toMrs_Miscarriage3

That’s fantastic!! Get rid of the chemicals. I was addicted to sweeteners but now I just have a few pieces of gum a day and no diet drinks, no sweeteners etc. Don’t be afraid, you have too much to gain. Many of my friends have had numerous losses and gone on to have healthy babies. I’m so scared, currently 7 weeks 3 days and having weekly scans after my 6 losses...you can imagine the paranoia but I know it’ll be worth it xxx
