I had my egg collection this morning and they got 24! I am now lay on the sofa with a tonne of pain and bloating; I’m even struggling to walk down the hall to the bathroom.
I know pain and bloating is normal (although the clinic gave me some medicine due to risk of OHSS) but I’m just wondering if anyone knows- is it likely to be more painful or take longer to recover given the higher number of eggs?

I had 15 eggs collected and was in quite a bit of pain and found it hard to move. When I had ET I was still really swollen and was told to rest. The pain lasted from egg collection until about 5 days after transfer. I just got plenty of rest and my OH looked after me and did everything. Just try and rest and if it gets worse or you don’t feel right then maybe you should your nurse and get some advice
Hi Nona84.oh dear, so sorry to hear this. Make sure you drink at least 3 litres of water a day and rest when you can. Take some regular paracetamol unless something else has been prescribed. No anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen. Keep an eye on your urine output and if it goes dark and becomes very little amounts you need to be seen. Same if you become breathless. Hopefully all will soon get better. Diane
I was exactly the same, had 29 eggs collected after 8 days of stims so they said I had to freeze all as pregnancy would makes things so much worse. It took me a good 10 days to recover, I also had cabergoline. Was awful, I was breathless just going to the kitchen and was back and forth from clinic. Have my meeting tomorrow with the embryologist to plan our next steps. Hope you feel better soon x
Thanks for the insight, yes I’m on cabergoline too. Clinic have called to check on me which I thought was nice of them. Then he embryologist called to say 18 have fertilised so really pleased. She also said every egg collected is a bruise on the ovary so no wonder I am in pain! Xx
