Post Egg Collection Recovery

Hi All!

I had egg collection on Wednesday and have been having a rough time of it since. My previous egg collection I had a little bit of pain the evening afterwards and by the next day could get back to my normal routine.

This time I’m still experiencing quite a bit of bloating and discomfort. Find even moving around difficult.

Luckily I had taken a few days off work just in case but just wondering how long it took other ladies to recover from the egg collection and their experience as this has taken me by surprise due to my previous recovery.

Thanks

Rach xx

Did you have more eggs this time? Any difficulty in reaching them?

Drink lots of water, aim for at least 2 litres a day. Take some paracetamol and up until transfer you can also use your hot water bottle. Rest up. Hope you feel better soon xx

Thanks Tugsgirl. I did get more eggs but only 7 vs 5 last time, so not a huge increase. No one mentioned any issues retrieving them so I assume all was straight forward.

I’ve been taking paracetamol, drinking lots and using my hot water bottle so I will continue with that 🙂. I’m sure it will subside soon. Think I just didn’t expect it as last time was a bit of a breeze. Just goes to show every time is different. Thanks again.xx

I’m glad it’s not just me Daddu1. I really hope you start to feel better soon. This evening is a little better for me so I’m hopeful I will be okay in another day or so. Let me know how you get on.

I had a lot of pain the first time and found it helped to eat little and often, drink lots of fluids and rest. It will pass. Our bodies are going through a lot and need to give them time to recover. Hope you feel better soon xx

Thanks HollieW. I think we do forget how much we are putting our bodies through. Pushing through life, work and treatment can take its toll. I feel a little better this evening, or I did till I got up 😂. Thank you. I’m sure I will feel better soon.xx

It does happen. However, just make sure to rest as much as you can. It could be because of the numbers of eggs collected. Drink lots of water as well. Lastly, don't stress too much I am sure things will be back to normal very soon. You just need to bed rest. Good luck! I hope the process works for you.

Thanks hannahding. Netflix is my best friend right now 😂. Hopefully I will feel better for transfer. I’m sure it will pass soon.
