The day has finally come and I’m going in tomorrow morning for my egg collection. Just wondered how other people found it? Do you feel anything or was it pain free? How were you the next day etc, thank you ❤️

Egg collection
Good luck for tomorrow. I was a bit sore afterwards and for the next few days. All I can say is keep drinking lots and have some paracetamol to hand xx
I felt like a bit of a dull ache and was super emotional! Good luck!! xxxx
Are you having general anaesthetic?
No, they have said I will be sedated but not general anaesthetic but I will be unconscious? So I’m thinking I won’t feel anything?
I think it still knocks you out. Maybe you can ask for a heavy sedation ? I believe you'll still be asleep.
Afterwards you'll get period like cramps, pain killers and paracetamol will help after.
I've always had GA so can't really comment on sedation.
Good luck
Xxx
Don’t feel a thing due to the anaesthetic. I was a bit sore afterwards and a little uncomfortable for a few days after. Just drink plenty of water. Good luck 🤞🏻🤞🏻 xxx
What sort of anaesthetic did you have? I’m not having general anaesthetic but I will be unconscious? Thank you! Xxx
Keep taking paracetamol for a few days after and it’s not so bad, but I was sore after each time.
When I had sedation I could feel it but it wasn’t painful the first time. Second time it hurt a bit. Third time I had gas and air and was fine but had to keep remembering to breathe it in deep and breathe it out so I stayed out of pain, but nurse was good. My heart rate went high in gas and air though.
It wasn’t anything like as bad as unthought it would be as I was very nervous about it.
I’m having egg collection tomorrow too. 2nd time for me. Nervous! Best of luck to you! Xx
I had sedation and was fast asleep for the whole thing. Last thing I remember was the anaesthetist putting some white stuff in my cannula and then I woke up in recovery half an hour later. Enjoy the nap! I found it very painful for a few days afterwards so don't put any pressure on yourself to be doing too much.
Good luck! X
Hey, I was awake for mine, I needed some gas and air as well as the painkillers they gave me as they weren’t quite enough but they were very good, as soon as I said it was hurting they popped me straight on it and it relieved me right away!
To be honest I had no discomfort at all afterwards, I had booked 2 days off to relax and recover but was absolutely fine, didn’t need any painkillers, no bleeding or anything. I had a hot water bottle handy, maybe that helped. The whole thing was done in about 20 mins I think.
Good luck - It’s quite emotional afterwards but exciting to get to this stage xx
