Just wondering what day approx in a FET cycle does the transfer happen? I’m trying to work out when I should book a week off work if things go to plan 🙏

FET cycle timings
Gosh that could be any day... usually it would be three or five days after egg collection... my hospital gave me a rough time and I explained to work I might shift it around if needed x
How old was your embryo when it was frozen? Mine (in a medicated but not down regulated cycle) was put back five days after the time I would usually ovulate as it was a five day blast.
When I had mine it was five days after the day you ovulated. So if can work that out then be after that. The day of ovulation u’ll need a scan too then be a wait until transfer ☺️ best wishes x
I think it depends if you’re having a natural FET or a medicated one.
I’ve been on progynova for mine and I took that for just over 2 weeks before having my transfer.
When are you scheduled to start?
Hope it all goes well for you
Xx
I’m having a medicated FET because I have PCOS and don’t ovulate in any sort of predictable pattern. Going in for my first scan tomorrow and they’ll tell me when to start progynova xx
My clinic scan you 12 days after starting progynova. If all is well with your lining then they book you in for transfer. Usually about 7 days later (5 days of progesterone pessaries but then another couple of days just because they are usually already fully booked in 5 days time). Good luck with your transfer!
Having my transfer today which is day 31 of my cycle. Today is day 26 of estrogen and day 7 of progesterone (although I started in the evening with the progesterone so prob only day 6 today I guess) Good luck xx
Good luck for today!! Xxx
How do you all organise your transfers around work? I’m struggling because my boss is not the most supportive. I’ve tried to give notice but as you know things change so my week off for a “hospital procedure” is moving back each week! I’ve not told them the real reason because it’s just too personal and the environment I work in i think it would just isolate me not help me (Work in a high stress office role) xx
Like you, I didn’t want to tell my boss... in fact, I didn’t the first cycle, but I spoke to HR instead. However, I came clean with him after the cycle ended in chemical pregnancy, because I was just broken and it was affecting my work 😢 It’s the best thing I could have possibly ever done, as he has been phenomenally supportive since then. In my view it’s so important to have someone in the office who has got your back, especially in a high pressure role. I just used annual leave for ET itself & booked it like normal holiday x
Hi Jude 😊 - the transfer coincides with when you would normally ovulate (e.g. for a 5 day embryo transfer, it’s expected ovulation date + 5 days). How long this takes, start to finish, depends on your drug protocol. I have a spreadsheet with all the key dates, based on 5 day transfer, inc. all the down-regging. If you’re doing a long protocol FET like my last cycle (rather than short or natural) then you are welcome to have a copy so you can adjust the dates to fit you. PM me your email address if you want a copy & I’ll send it over (I’m such a spreadsheet geek 🤓) Good luck!! X
