Hi Myhope,

It is good news to hear that you got a right match after 4 years. It should give you hope that at least something is being done and that you will soon become a happy mother. My dear, I think it is too early to celebrate. So I think we need to focus our effort on how we can improve and boost our chances of success. Let me mention that the transfer procedure may be exciting and stressful. You will be anxious as you wait to see the embryo develop. So it is important that you do everything that can help the embryo get implanted. Typically, implantation occurs when the embryo successfully implants itself on the wall of your uterus. It takes about 6-10 days for this to happen. It means that after the transfer, you will need to be patient for at least 6 days. There are two important factors that influence embryo implantation. The quality of the embryo and how receptive your uterus is. Chromosomal abnormalities in the embryo can lead to failure. This explains why success rate reduces as one advance in age. However, using donor eggs helps to improve on this. Consequently, you made a right decision to seek egg donation. Notice that uterine receptive is another factor that could affect the implantation process. It can be affected by the thyroid, hormone, and anatomical problem. Your doctor will be able to diagnose this and take remedial actions. Lastly, relaxing after the implantation is one of the secrets that most patients ignore but which has been found to play a leading role in enhancing implantation.
