Donor Egg Babies

So…. After 5 rounds of IVF, 4 transfers, 3 positives, 2 miscarriages & 1 beautiful daughter, I have decided donor eggs in order to have another baby & a sibling for my daughter.

Has anybody here used donor eggs & husbands sperm?

Did you find it difficult?

My husband is yet to buy in to the idea as he doesn’t like the idea of the baby not being half me, but I know it won’t feel like that as I still grow the baby & give birth.

Any stories would be welcomed.

Thanks

hi

We used DE and husbands sperm.

I had no chance of using my own eggs and my husbands sperm was extracted by medical procedure due to a vasectomy years ago.

First round ended in 1 embryo which was transferred but ended up in a BFN.

We then swapped donor and purchased 9 eggs, 6 fertilised and 2 made it to embryo stage, 1 transferred and one frozen.

Miraculously we had a BFP, and I’m now 30 weeks pregnant.

Not once have I thought that the baby is not part of me, once it’s growing inside you, it becomes part of you ( that’s how I feel).

Hope this helps with your journey and the best of luck.

I was reading up on epigenetics yesterday and it’s fascinating! Hoping the rest of your pregnancy goes well - I’m hoping to join you on that journey soon 🤞🏼. Have to admit I’m not at all concerned about using DE as I just know that when I feel that life inside me it will be mine!! X

i used donor egg and my husband sperm. My daughters will soon to be 8 months old. I didn’t bother much honestly speaking. I went through the same process of pregnancy. In hospital no one bothered if you went through this route unless you mentioned to them. My daughters love me too bits and look for me. Our bonding is really strong. So it makes no difference to me

Did your husband struggle with the DE idea at all?

Not at all. He was very happy to go through this process. By end of the day, I am using his sperm and the girls carry his genes
