You panic all the way up to it.

1: it’ll hurt.

2: you can’t remember how to do it.

3: what angle does it go in?

4: watch the video again.

5: what if the needle gets stuck.

6: do not try and put the green needle in your belly!

7: it’ll definitely hurt.

8: what if I push loads out while getting rid of the air bubble?

9: oh just watch the sodding video again.

10: where shall I put it?

11: remember to pinch.

12: hells bells I could do with losing a couple of inches from my belly.

13: it’ll hurt!

14: just do it!!!!

15: oh!

16: right.

17: not that bad.

18: eeeeep! I did it!

19: do I get chocolate now?

20: reminds self of point 12.

I’m back. Day 1. Done. :) x

Love this. All the internal conversation we all have. Good luck cxx

😂😂😂

Well done! Now eat a bit of chocolate, it won’t hurt! Xxx

Ps. Good luck!!

Out of interest, is that suprecur? Mine comes with a nice easy needle that doesn’t need clipping on or anything, a 0.5ml needle already attached to a syringe that you just take the cap off and away you go. I’m constantly surprised by how different this journey is for each person in each tiny way. That looks like you’re using a drawing up needle then and injecting needle, am I right? Just curious really!

Ps sorry, got distracted. Meant to say, well done!

The video (from pharmasure) I watched uses the yellow needle only to draw and inject. Out of habit and because they provided both needles (that was pharmasure the order came from!) ... I use green for drawing and yellow for injecting. I’m not sure why I need two; but I definitely don’t have no needle attached to a syringe! Weird?! x

Lizzielizzielizzie profile image
Lizzielizzielizzie in reply toemu2016

Yes so weird! My drugs have always come from healthcare at home, they always send the same needles (I think they’re the ones diabetics use for insulin) but vary as to whether they bother to send the alcohol wipes or not. And they don’t provide a video! It all gets us to the same place in the end, I just don’t understand why the journeys are all so varied. I think I just expected it all to be more standardised!

emu2016 in reply toLizzielizzielizzie

Ask WeeMrsH about varying cycles! We’re both basically doing the same thing and she doesn’t have to inject! What crazy bloody world is this?!

Lizzielizzielizzie profile image
Lizzielizzielizzie in reply toemu2016

I’ve been with two clinics that are under the same branding, shared care between the two and they can’t even agree between themselves exactly what to do sometimes! One always takes bloods with scans, one doesn’t, one orders small vials of menopur the other sends out big bottles, etc etc. I feel like someone needs to compile all the different ways of doing everything, then work out the most effective, least stressful way and we can all just do that!!! If I ruled the world...

We’d all get BFP’s! 😊😊😊

Lizzielizzielizzie profile image
Lizzielizzielizzie in reply toemu2016

That’s exactly what would happen if I ruled the world! And none of us would need ivf, it would be natural conception all the way. Oh wait, I seem to be developing a God complex...

My buserelin needles are the diabetic ones- quite fine to use, it was the menopur needles which were nasty! Could never work out why they sent so

Many in a box! X

Never count. Stop counting now. Or at least count days not jabs, it should be a smaller number that way.

Ouch! X

This post made me smile!

Sounds like me every time I had to do an injection for my IUI or clexane while I was pregnant.

My last pregnancy was ectopic so IVF is the only option now. One of my first thoughts was about the injections and how I’d cope- you just detailed my thoughts every time. 😂

(I used to have a kitkat after nearly every injection) 🤦🏻‍♀️

If I start the kit Kat routine it’ll be a disaster! Might try some kind of treat though! Good luck with your journey xx

Definitely don’t follow my lead. 🙈🙈

Fingers crossed for you. X

Not so well tonight! I couldn’t get the needle in! Now I’ve got a red itchy rash! Can’t win them all. I’m definitely having a kit kat finger tonight! How’s your journey going? Did you sort what would happen if you moved? x

kelsbels88 profile image
kelsbels88 in reply toemu2016

Oh no! 🤦🏼‍♀️ this is the kind of thing that’s worrying me I don’t like needles anyway so if it goes wrong what do I do then?? 🙈😰

You have that kit kat finger push the boat out and have 2! 😋

My journey is at a bit of a standstill at the min. I phoned the fertility clinic themselves (after lots of back and forth with the drs/receptionists - who appeared to know nothing) and they said they had never heard of anybody having to wait an allotted time here before they can apply. (Consultant told me I have to live at an address 12months before I would qualify if I moved) so I’m going to go ahead and just hope (a bit extra) that what they have told me is true. Drs have said as long as I have a registered address I can be referred so I am keeping everything crossed. Xx

emu2016 in reply tokelsbels88

I promise you, on my first round I never had any issues. The nurses explained everything and I was probably taking more time. I think I’m probably rushing it and not taking my time. Don’t you panic. You’ll be fine.

When you register at a new Dr’s all your notes will be with you from previous GP. So I can’t see how you’d have to start again. Fingers crossed! x

kelsbels88 in reply toemu2016

I think deep down I had a feeling this would happen and we would probably have to go down the ivf route but you just want to be hopeful that you won’t, sometimes it doesn’t go to plan.

That is sooo what I’m hoping 🍀🤞🏻 I know I will probably have to do all my bloods again but I’m hoping that won’t affect other things. They should also get the letter that says I qualify I just hope they don’t try and delay it because one of my tubes does function a little.

Will have to wait and see 🤞🏻🍀 xx
