I recently had a Fallopian tube removed and the last week or so we’ve begun trying naturally again however I’ve just been prescribed quite strong painkillers for something none fertility related and I’m worried that they might effect our chances of getting pregnant. I know during pregnancy you can only take paracetamol and should I be acting as though I’m pregnant whilst trying?? Does anyone know what I should do? I really struggle without the painkillers but obviously having a baby is more important to us 😕 xx

Hi hunnie i no this is an old post but ive been offline for a while after 2 miscarriages last yr through ivf..am also goin 2 have 1 of my tubes removed i just wanted 2 ask befor u had ur tube removed did u get pregnant naturally or only naturally after tube removed...just ive never got pregnant naturally but have through ivf...just curious if havin my tube removed may help me get pregnant naturally xxx
So I had my tube removed in February this year, before that we’d been trying for around 2 years with no luck. I was told the blocked tube was the reason why and if I was to go through IVF whilst still having the blockage it would most likely end in miscarriage because the fluid in the tube is toxic to a foetus should it flow back into the uterus so it is very likely that it is contributing to your miscarriages. Obviously I’m not a doctor, this is just what I was told by the consultant. So I had my tube out and 8 weeks later I was pregnant naturally, it literally changed my life. Good luck for your operation, make sure you take it easy and look after yourself for a few days after, don’t rush getting back to “normal” xx
Waw thats amazing to hear u got pregnant so quick after and yes after reading this i looked it up online about the toxic fluid and ur right it could be the cause of my miscarriges...thank you so much for ur reply and i seen ur now pregnant and all goin great am over the moon for u love xxx
I know I was in shock that it happened so soon after, but it goes to show that it was actually the blocked tube causing all the issues.
I’m sorry you didn’t get told about the fluid being toxic before you started IVF, I thought your consultant would have discussed this with you as mine was very against starting IVF because of this reason and thought it’d be much better to just operate. But as my story goes to show there is hope and it is very possible that once you’ve had it removed and if there are no other issues you should be able to get pregnant naturally or IVF should at least end in a better outcome.
Thank you, yes I’m currently nearly 12 weeks pregnant and baby is just perfect.
Good luck with everything, I’d just say ask as many questions as you can when you see your consultant so your really well informed xx
Thank you so much babez and uv really givin me hope..as the blocked tube is my only issue..waw 12 wks thats amazing i wish u a great pregnancy and hope u enjoy every minute of it 💕💋 and i surly will ask as many questions as possible thsnks babez xx
