Morning ladies

Woke up this morning to cramps and what I can only describe to AF pain. I wasn't to concerned as the cyclogest pessaries have caused me simular pain since I started taking them but this just felt slightly different. I then thought maybe it was down to the food we had last night as we ate out.

I went to toilet and was horrified to see a smudge of brown blood on pantyliner. I then has a wee, which was its usual colour but when I wiped the toilet roll showed a brown watery type substance with slight brown mucas.

I'm worried now that this is the start of a misscarriage and am reaching out to you guys as my mam flys out to oz today for 3 weeks (even though she wishes she wasnt) and I don't want to worry her. I know it could also be further implantation etc but at the moment all positivity has gone out the window and I suppose I just need to rest as much as possible and try not to worry. As you all know that is easier said than done0 throughout this process, whether you are at the start of end.

My scan is Wednesday afternoon. Never been so scared in all my life. This is a horrendous jorney xxx

Firstly I think af cramping is completely normal. I experienced it myself (it wasn’t anything to do with my missed miscarriages) and my friends all reassured me that the cramping was normal and they’d had it too. Secondly if the blood is brown they say that’s old blood rather than new blood. I was told unless I had severe cramping and bright red bleeding not to worry. Easier said than done I know. Could you call your clinic for reassurance? I understand why you’re worried. It’s only normal to worry xx

Hi, I rang the clinic. Like you I was told unless it was bright red and cramps were severe to try not to get to concerned. Still spotting now. Suppose It's just a waiting game xx

Hi Minibud. Oh dear! Try not to worry, easier said than done. Not long till your scan, which should reassure you. Usually a miscarriage starts with red blood, not old blood, so hopefully it could just be some old “gunk” that’s irritated you a bit. Your womb is starting to enlarge too, which could account for AF feelings. Thinking of you. Diane

I had brown spotting at just over 5 weeks, I’d describe it as sort of muddy looking? I also had cramping, like AF cramping as well as backache, quite strong at times. I’ll be honest I did think the worst, however all was ok. I’ll be 28 weeks pregnant on Sunday.

Try not to worry, I know it’s easier said than done but I was advised as long as the bleeding wasn’t bright red and heavy then to try and not panic.

I was also advised by Oakey to not insert the pessaries too high, as this could irritate the cervix. From that day on I stopped inserting them too high and didn’t have any more spotting so you could also try this if your inserting pessaries vaginally.

Good luck 🤞 xxx

Hi, that's reassuring Amanda and congratulations on your pregnancy. Hope the next 12 weeks fly for you.

I rang clinic and they did say not to panic but it's so difficult isn't it. Hate not being in control.

I've been using pessaries rectally but thank you for advice. Hopefully all will be okay like it was with you xx

I know you can get some blood when the placenta implants which I think would be around your dates. As the other ladies have said brown blood is old blood so please do not worry. It could be old blood from implementation. Xxx

Hi, I read about placenta on Google (yes I know, wrong friend to turn to ha ha) and am trying to believe it is that and that's a good sign.

When i started this journey I honestly had no idea what I was letting myself in for. I've been so naive. Mam just popped in to say goodbye and I've had to fight tears. I didnt want her to worry while she's on her jollies xx

This journey is certainly hard and when you finally get your long awaited bfp it doesn’t always go how you will expect it too!

I had a massive red bleed on Monday followed by brown spotting and an even bigger red bleed on Wednesday it was pouring out of me went back brown and I went to epu yesterday - baby was ok and we saw heartbeat but I have a sub chorionic bleed below the sac. Hopefully it resolves on its own. Not all blood means the obvious, think positive xxxx

Hope you’ve had some good films on and comfort food 😘 xx

I know exactly how you feel. I had spotting on and off since Saturday but had a scan yesterday and although baby is tiny they reassured me all was ok and that the spotting was not anything to worry about and that it could last a few weeks yet as the placenta is settling in etc. Believe me I know nothing will stop you worrying until your scan as it didn't me but if you look back at my posts there were sooo many reassuring stories from other ladies who had bleeding. Sending love xx

Thank you. When it stopped yesterday I felt more positive but its back this morning and I am currently sat sobbing at my kitchen island. I'm hoping like you, all is well, but struggling to believe it at minute xx

Mine started Saturday then reappeared Tuesday, then was every day until Friday and I didn't see any yesterday (but I'm not looking at the tissue when I wipe anymore as it'll drive me crazy) the lady scanning me said it could last 2 weeks so I'm not going to worry unless it starts pouring out bright red and clots enough to fill a pad. Sending love believe me I was in tears every day this week xx
