Hello, sorry for the TMI post but im freaking out big time. I just had my positve test day after my first round of IVF and was able to enjoy a full day of feeling happy ...... The nurse said yesterday that i'm almost 5 weeks pregnant but this morning I have watery brown blood when wiping and a dull constant ache on my right side. It's really low down in my groin. I've had the ache all week but it's intensified today. I'm terrified it's all over before it's begun. Does this sound like I'm starting to miscarry? Has anyone experienced anything similar and it's been okay? Called nurse this morning and said I just have to wait and see if I continue to get blood or it gets heavier. I'm so scared π± π¨ π«

Watery brown blood and cramp in groin (day after my BFP test day π)
Congratulations!!! Try and take a deep breath. I know how worrying this is but actually this is really common in early pregnancy, its often the remains of implantation and also the embryo burying in and the uterus stretching to get ready for the pregnancy as it continues. I am sure everything is fine, the best thing you can do is try and keep calm. Heaps of luck xx
Thank you so much for replying. I'd read the groin pain could be down to ligament stretching so hadn't been worried about that, but the sight of blood sent me into panic mode. Trying to stay calm as seems to have stopped for now. Its so hard when you've been trying for so long and want it so badly π’ xx
The general rule is unless itβs full flow red blood then you donβt need to worry and even then there is often a logical explanation. Heaps of luck xx
Oh i am so sorry for what you are going through.Do you take your progesterone vaginally?
I remember with my first ivf pregnancy I did get some brown old blood discharge and freaking out then it stopped and was told it might have been the pessary irritating things inside.
I do. I'm taking Cyclogest at night time and I've read that they could be the reason. Thankfully, the pain has subsided and whist I'm still getting brown discharge, I'm not bleeding red blood. Nurse didn't seem overly concerned when I called back yesterday afternoon (think she just thought I'm another hysterical hyperchrondriac!) But I've asked for a blood test anyway so going in today. Hopefully it's all still okay. This journey is so bloody terrifying!!!
I know exactly how you feel, I remember feeling happy for a day and then anxity hit and I was afraid I would miscarry, would go to the bathroom to check for blood all the time!I hope you get to see the heartbeat soon!!!
Thank you for your support! It's actually comforting to know I'm not a complete looney and others have been here too! Hope your pregnancy had a positive outcome !! βΊοΈ
I know loads of pregnant women who bleed through it their pregnancy and then tube birth to healthy babies!
My daughter is 2.5 years old turbos for asking!
Currently 25 weeks pregnant as well! (took me 4 transfers to get here)
Congratulations! Yes I've read so much about it in the last 24 hours. Seems quite common, though scary when every other article is about miscarriage too! I'm trying to stay positve. This is our first IVF cycle and first transfer after ttc for 2 years. Things have gone so well so far I think I'm bracing myself for it to go wrong . Trying to snap out this negative attitude and enjoy it!! X
Very few people get pregnant first time, you are indeed lucky and I hope it sticks!!!Time could only tell the outcome, if only you could do an hcg blood test to be sure
I've been to the clinic for a hcg blood test today so hopefully will find out soon. Think I need to go back Wednesday to test again to test the increase. More waiting!!!! X
