Sperm

Hi

Just been reading another post about morphology, and how it can hinder implantation or can create a poor embryo.

My husbands Karyotyping was normal and he’s just got low count and poor morph, I don’t know the numbers.

The doctor has repeatedly told us that it doesn’t matter about the sperm as they are putting it into the egg with ICSI..

Got myself worried now that even if we collect a good amount the quality of sperm may cause us to get no good embryos x

Hey, how many rounds have you done and what has your embryo quality been like? Was probably my post you were reading me stressing about morphology 🙈

My consultant today said he thinks we should do sperm dna fragmentation testing before opting for ICSI as we seem to get very poor embryos with lots of fragmentation with ivf even though my eggs all fertilise nicely. Hubby is booked in for Thursday and we will have the results back before egg collection - round 4 starts next week!x

We are on round one, I have AMH of 27 and I’m 25. Doc said he is expecting good eggs, and hasn’t said anything about how morphology affects an embryo x

I really think with an amh like that and being 25 you will get enough good quality embryos to have a good chance. Good luck xx

I hope so, just with it being our first go you just don’t know what you’re going to get 🤦🏻‍♀️Xx

My hubby has poor everything including morphology so they went down the ICSI route. We had 11 eggs collected, 9 of which fertilised. 4 of those turned into blastos. We’ve used 3 of the blastos so far and had 1 BFP, 1 CP and 1 BFN. We’ve got a follow up next week following our latest failed round and I will be asking whether it is more likely the sperm, egg or implantation issues lead to our failures. Seeing as it’s your first round I would say wait and see how it goes, how many eggs you get and how many turn into embryos before starting to worry about whether the sperm quality will impact anything. There are lots of BFPs from couples with sperm issues so try and stay positive x
