I’d love to hear stories from people about their journey with male infertility and at what stage they would suggest to use donor sperm. At his last sperm analysis my partners sperm count was 1.3million per ml with poor motility and morphology too. He’s since had a varicocele operation and he’s going to test again. We have 5 day 5 blastocysts on ice and have used one already. We try again this coming week. I have just read about people using donor sperm and wondered how far from similar to us those people were. I’m probably looking too far into the future but struggle not to think of all possible angles x

Question on donor sperm
When my husband first got his sperm checked he was at 1 mill with poor motility and morphology. It's since gone up to 10 million and, in our last cycle, we got 7 PGT-A tested embryos. To improve his numbers my husband did loads of research and started taking a whole bunch of vitamins. He also bought some underwear with a pouch in that you can put a cold pack in (which he wore every night for a couple of months before egg collection). He also stopped drinking and started wearing loose boxers. In my experience, clinics are often hesitant to use a sperm donor if your partner has some healthy sperm. Good luck!
That’s a brilliant increase!! He does to my knowledge have some healthy sperm. He’s started to take vitamins now ahead of his next test. He said the eurologist on the phone was pretty positive that things would improve. I will look into this cold pack thing! Where did he get that from??
He got them on Amazon. He just had a look and they are called 'snowballs' (lol). They did seem to do the trick though and he said they weren't uncomfortable to wear!
He also said to look into Impryl - it's expensive but he said he believes it made a massive difference. There's been a lot of clinical trials on it. Good luck!
