I had an appointment in the clinic today and I'm getting ready for the upcoming cycle.
Due to a very low amh I will try natural modified protocol and I was prescribed 150 of Bemfola. Then I read about good results when you add Tamoxifen or Letrozol to it but my consultant said I have too little number of antral follicles. I have four.
Can you please let me know how yours natural modified cycles looked like?
Thanks x

I’ve done quite a few modified natural cycles. Used short protocol so no down regulation. They’ve each varied a little so sometimes I don’t take any meds at the start and other times very low doses of fsh. I’ve taken clomid - similar to letrozole. It makes your body (follicles) produce more oestrogen. Most of my cycles have produced one egg and two produced 2 eggs and two produced nothing.
The chlomid helps with ovulation and makes your body produce more oestrogen so the egg is better quality. It won’t improve Antral follicle count or create any more eggs unfortunately.
generally my antral follicle count is from between 3-7. Amh was 8 but that was a couple years ago
No, it's going to be my third round but probably the last one because we can't afford any more so I would like to give myself best chance to get more than one egg.
I just don't understand why can't we use tamoxifen when I have 4 AFC? What is the problem? I would like to know.
I have emailed my clinic but stressing in the meantime.
Of course you want to give yourself the best chance and you are doing all you can by asking questions and doing your research. I read that create have used tamoxifen with women with low reserve. I think if I’m correct - they used just tamoxifen and no other meds ?
It’s definitely worth asking again at your clinic or maybe another clinic.
Try not to get too stressed hun easier said than done. It sucks having low reserve - but I’ve tried to focus on doing what I can to help egg quality.
