Growing belly after miscarriage!

I had an early loss but my belly hasn’t stopped growing & I don’t fit into any of my clothes! Has anyone else had this and do you know how long it will take me to “deflate” back to my normal size? The pregnancy ended around 6 weeks, but 4 weeks on & I look about 10 weeks pregnant. I’m just praying nobody asks me if I’m pregnant as I don’t know how I’ll handle it 😢

Hi Wishfully. So sorry to hear this. I feel you need to have a scan just to check that the little one has completely come away?? Go to an EPU or see your GP to get it sorted. Thinking of you. Diane

Thank you for your advice DianeArnold , I’ve left a message with the clinic, waiting for a call back.

Heyya. I hope that you're doing good. I'm really sorry for your loss. It's really is a heartbreaking thing. Miscarriages break a woman both mentally and physically. You must be going through a very hard time. But this is an exceptional case here. You're still increasing your belly here. This is the one thing that can even cause problems in your future life. You must get it checked through a proper clinic. No one can say anything here about his case except your own doctor. Because your doctor knows your case much better than any of us here. Try doing some yoga. Take the specific medications given by your doc on time. You'll be fine. I hope that things get better for you soon. Take care of yourself. Much love.

Thank you LorrieWalden - The clinic had told me to wait for a further bleed & to call again next week if I still haven’t bled (I’ve done so much waiting in this process!). But I’m worried now & I’m abroad with work next week, so I’m going to see if I can see someone this week. It’s really good advice you’ve given, thank you xx

I’m so sorry for your loss, been there and still devastated by it. I think it’s one of the worst things a woman can go through. 💔

I agree with others definitely go back to your GP/ contact your fertility doctor 😊

I had bad issues with my periods and bowels since my miscarriage- mine are identical to how it was before my endometriosis was treated. I was advised to contact my fertility doctor by one GP- my fertility doctor he arranged a scan. My lining was found to not be in uniform ( this is 3 periods after my loss) so my fertility doctor then refered me to his colleague a general gynaecologist and she was lovely - I’m having a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, biopsy and if endometriosis is back they’ll remove it next month. It does look like it has returned- I have put my trying on hold till this has been investigated.

I hope I haven’t wiorried you- not my intention at all. Sometimes it’s best to get things checked over. And I’m sorry things aren’t settling down- I know how that feels. Like having a miscarriage isn’t difficult enough. Hugs to you.

Hope you get this sorted out soon xoxo

Thank you Hidden , it sounds like you’re having a tough time too xx I’m back on to the clinic today, so hoping I get to see someone soon. What tests did they run to check the uniformity of your womb lining?

Thank you I ’m just glad it’s getting sorted - my fertility doctor is amazing 😉 he got me an appointment with a general gynaecologist within 2 months of referral 🙌🏻

I only had a pelvic ultrasound - nothing fancy! But difference was as my fertility doctor ordered the scan he got the report and pictures and he was more skilled at looking at the scan than a GP- I don’t know if a GP would be able to see it? If you have a scan get the report and pictures sent to your fertility doctor 😊

Do let me know how you get on. Hopefully they’ll get to the bottom of it for you 😊 xoxo

How anyone can tell what’s going on via ultrasound is beyond me - everything looks like grey soup 😂. I’m going to ask about further checks this time - unfortunately my follow up with the consultant isn’t until 21st March, so need to wait a bit longer for that. I hope all goes well with your treatment xx

I know! 🤣

You can always contact your fertility specialist before your appointment and state your concerns. I wrote to my fertility doctor with my concerns and I’m so glad I did because it is being sorted 😊 with this going on they may bring your appointment forward or you can keep asking if there have been any cancellations 😊 xoxo

Thanks Lyeo. Going to check with the clinic, for peace of mind if nothing else. I’m pretty sporty & I’m back at the gym and running again - it doesn’t feel like fat though, it’s rock solid. I think you’re right that my body was sending signals to make room for a little baby & it hasn’t got the message that the embryo stopped developing. I guess my main concern is whether I have shed everything I should have from my womb, but I need my doctor to tell me that. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to me, it really means a lot xx
