Quick update post Hysteroscopy

Hi all

Some of you may have read that we are planning for our lucky NUMBER 7 final round of IVF.

However we were supposed to start Jan but unfortunately the scan threw back a delay and showed I had grown a new fibroid inside the endo cavity in my lining which of course isn’t good 😢 Anyways we booked our treatment after some research and had op today, the results were positive and care was good other than delay after op waiting around can’t complain.

All scar tissue and firbroid were removed, implantation cuts were carried out this apparently increasing our chances by a massive 65% how true not sure but who knows. Also taken internal blood sample to check for infections within the blood that are not checked for so again a positive.

I am recovering now and no pain anymore just 💤.

Would reccomend that Athens has great insight to fertility PM me if you need details further.

On the grand scale of things it’s a small price to pay considering how much money we have already spent

Good luck ladies xxx

I had a great experience on Thursday at the clinic they do put you at ease. They offered me Vallium by injection it was good. I had to rest for 20 mins after transfer it was nice not to get rushed in an out. We have 2 in the freezer I was hoping for more but as the doctor said he's confident I won't need to come back!! Fingers crossed test 13th.

Stavros told me the successful pregnancy rate is 90 per cent for 2017!

Glad you had a good experience I have also a small fibroid close to the lining I'm hoping it won't cause any issues.

Good luck can't believe the weather changed!!! Xxx

hey there tamtam1! its good to see you're optimistic about everything. and who knows maybe lucky number 7 does have some fairy dust to its name. This is one of that rare post that had something optimistic to say after a hysteroscopy, what kind of hysteroscopy did you go through. You're post confused me, to be honest. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't IVF useless after a hysteroscopy. That is what I have been led to believe, I went through a hysteroscopy which is the main cause of my infertility as my ovaries and fallopian tubes had to be removed due to damage and I don't think there is any going back for me at least not for a while.I'm still 26 and your post gave me some hope, false maybe but still hope. please do expand on this. Its good to see that the pain is over and you are recovering well. Take lots of bed rest and take care of your diet.Lots of love and all the best luck for your journey I just know you are going to have the cutest baby ever.

Hiya

Thanks for your message.

A hysteroscopy is as below:

Hysteroscopy is the inspection of the uterine cavity by endoscopy with access through the cervix. It allows for the diagnosis of intrauterine pathology and serves as a method for surgical intervention.

On my particular case they found scar tissue and fibroids which were removed to increase my chances of pregnancy.

I have had 6 previous cycles 3 using my own eggs and 3 using donor eggs out of the donor eggs on my first fresh transfer it worked but we sadly lost him at 18 weeks. The other 2 were frozen transfers which didn’t work.

As you have had your tubes removed and ovaries I would assume that you could have ivf using donor eggs as you have no way of producing your own eggs, this is something only you could consider your chances are as much as anyone’s on this sad journey x

I wish you well xxx

"first thank you so much for responding. It really means a lot to me.I am sorry for your loss and really hope all goes well for you.I am glad you're hysteroscopy was a success I hope it doesn't cause further complication for your pregnancy. You said that I can still have IVF using donor eggs. Would you please expand on that a little more. I mean if you have the time.I thought that I was not even eligible for IVF.so is it really possible for me to conceive? during the previous days, I have tried looking for other options.I had completely ruled out this fact. This is such a pleasant surprise.Thank you so much this made my day for sure.I don't find my self-having a strong case for IVF but its much cheaper than my other options still.

much love and baby dust your way <3."

Hi Hidden , hope you have recovered well and ready for the next step! I’ve had scar tissues as well and had two hyteroscopy, now on my second ivf cycle :) Can you let me know your clinic name in Athens as we’re looking for some options there. Best wishes for your journey Xxx
