Doing my first round of short protocol on 400 Menopur and 0.25 Buserelin and feel awful already. I've been drinking loads of water but have had a migraine headache and nausea and have hardly slept. My mind is racing too and I'm not sure if this is the drugs or underlying anxiety. Any tips for getting through the next two weeks craziness please?

Day 2 and already feeling awful
Hiya, sorry to hear you’re feeling so horrible. The headaches were always the worst side effect for me. Keep drinking lots of water. I used to put a cold gel pack on my forehead / eyes which did give me some relief as paracetamol just didn’t shift it. However sometimes sleep was the only way to shift it.
It’s natural that you’ll also be experiencing stress and anxiety. As a result you might have tension in your body which may exacerbate the headaches further. Maybe you could try some relaxation exercises. There are a number of ivf apps on the App Store and downloads available on iTunes. They will have guided meditations and breathing exercises you could try. Acupuncture may also be worth a try for both relaxation and for the treatment cycle itself.
Hoping you can find something that gives you some relief xx
I second the water, it seemed to be the only thing that shifted mine, I found wearing my sunglasses helped too even though it was winter lol. Xx
It’s ok to take paracetamol to help with headaches.
Thanks all. Just got to keep on drinking the water I guess. The eye packis a great idea, if I can't find one on the way home I'll pick up a cucumber! Been having regular acupuncture which is a great help with my mood, but I'll try those podcasts too. Just want expecting to wake up with full on hangover symptoms this early!
Oh I do sympathise with the migrane like headaches. I used to find that taking some codine (paracetamol doesnt touch anything for me) and lying in a hot bath with my head under the water helped my headaches or sitting in the shower with the water running on the back of my neck helped....dont take any anti inflammatory meds....no ibuprofen. Hopefully things will settle down. I found my migranes got a bit better once the Menopur kicked in to take over the buserelin.xx
Mmmm that sounds lovely!
Water, paracetamol, no bright lights, quiet room and heat on your head (I used a hot water bottle). Nothing will really shift these headaches unfortunately (in my experience) but you can ease them xx
