Doxycline antibiotics

Just had egg collection today and got prescribed Doxycline antiotics to take for 5 days. I just read the little leaflet in the box and it said do not take if you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant. I am abit concerned because i did not get the capsule one but the soluble tablet version. Any one have any experience of this?

Hi. I used doxycycline after my egg collection too (for a week). Often medicines will say they should not be used but the specialists are familiar with using them “off licence”. I don’t think there is anything to worry about and the crossover time with transfer is minimal.

I took them after EC but finished 2 days before ET. This is to prevent infection. Make sure you take good probiotics to rebuild good gut bacteria (2h apart from antibiotics) x
