I'm 7 weeks pregnant so, so exhausted. I quit caffeine during the transfer stage and still have not been having any black tea at all. But I cannot keep my eyes open all day. I would not want to take any risks of a miscarriage, but I am wondering if there is a point at which I can add one cup of black tea back into my routine so I can feel like I'm living.
Anyone get good advice on this? My doctor is French and seems to think everything is just fine, so curious what others think.

Hi the recommended in uk is up 200mg of caffeine for pregnant women. One cup of tea will do no harm to baby so enjoy! I have a 20 month old daughter and I drank tea and she is healthy and okay! All the best with your pregnancy Xx
Ps won't be too long before you will be able to book in with your midwife and they are the experts on pregnancy and babies! So you won't have to ask your GP who are great but not the experts in that field Xx
I still drink coffee mostly decaf but if there’s none I drink regular. With my other 2 pregnancies caffeine wasn’t even a thing to stop at the time & alcohol was reduced not stopped so I wouldn’t worry too much.
I had 3 Tetley teas a day when midwife suggested to do so at 16 weeks pregnant, before that I had 5 or 6 cups of tea. In my mind there's a lot worse things than caffeine that could affect baby development.
Thanks for the replies! I'm still a bit concerned about the difference of *restarting* tea since I haven't been drinking it prior to my transfer. If I had been drinking it all along I wouldn't worry, but I am dying without my tea I have to say.
Hey lovely, I really missed my tea as well so I started having one proper cup in the mornings. There is not a huge amount of caffeine in tea so try not to worry. If it makes you happy and relaxes you, it’ll be doing more good than harm xxx
Is go decaf and allow yourself one cup when you most need it in the day. I do one real coffee in morning and decaf for the rest of the day. Decaf tea always anyway which is nice . Thompson tea in the blue bag tastes like normal 👍🏻
