Hoping beyond all hope

I'm due to go for an MRI scan tomorrow to prepare for fertility treatment. They called for the pre assessment and asked when my last period was. It's due to start tomorrow. Because we're actively trying they said take a pregnancy test before just to make sure I'm not pregnant as they won't do the scan if I am.

There are two lines... there's no doubt about it, it says I'm pregnant. But I'm not sure as I've a really heavy cold. Although I've not taken any medication I'm dehydrated and I've had stingy pee all day. So I'm not sure if I am or not. I'm hoping beyond all hope that I am but I don't want to get my hopes up again.

I'm going to drink loads tonight and take the test tomorrow. If there's any doubt I'll phone the hospital and cancel the appointment. Keep your fingers crossed for us please xx

Thanks for all the luck and good wishes everyone. I've done another test this morning but there's no result! My husband's sleeping so I'll tell him in a while and work out what to do next. I'll phone the hospital too as I think they'll postpone the MRI just to be safe. The first time a test doesn't work for me - typical lol x

Wish you the best of luck for the test 😊

You could try your local hospital to a blood test and conform if you are or not 😊

Either way you chose, stay positive and good luck

So we have two positive tests! I went to the hospital but they didn't do the MRI just to be safe. I'm still not wanting to believe it just yet. We've been disappointed before. So I'm going to leave it a few days until the cold and anything else clears up and check again. Still keeping positive and hoping 😊 X

Cautious congratulations! I've definitely been told you're more likely to get a false negative than a false positive on those urine tests, but you could also ask your GP for a blood test to get the actual numbers to make you feel more certain?!
