Hi, is it normal that I’m still in pain? Had ER on Friday,I know it’s just 2days but I feel I had no improvement and still in same pain that I was.can’t walk normally basically I rather not to walk or sit as I feel uncomfortable.start my cyclogest pessary last night and this morning I had a sign of bleeding! It was like brown blood not heavy at all. Is this all normal? Any thing I can do to get better soon? I might have my ET tomorrow(hope not as I don’t feel well) if not it’s defo on Wednesday , wan feel better till then. Xxx

Everyone’s different, but when I had my EC I remember still being very sore and crampy a couple of days after!! I was still taking paracetamol on day 3!!

Rest up, plenty of water and keep up your paracetamol!! Wishing you all the best for transfer!! 🤞🏻Xx

Oh no, sorry to hear you’re still feeling so tender. You have just had surgery so don’t expect too much from yourself too soon. If your symptoms worsen I would ring the out of hours number provided by your clinic.

I would say the blood was left over from the egg collection. The colour you describe sounds like old blood.

How did you get on with the cyclogest? I start it in the morning and have never used it before. Have always had crinone gel in the past.

Lie up, keep up the regular paracetamol and plenty of water still xxx

So I guess it’s normal! Still have cramps even when I go to toilet. Cyclogest was ok easier that I thought,I never had something like that before so all new for me.they told me not to use it vaginaly till my ET and after that I can use both way. It’s funny because on Friday that I’ve done ER I just took 2 paracetamol and had no pain but since yesterday I feel more pain and more uncomfortable. Hope I get better soon can’t imagine having ET tomorrow hopefully they do it on Wednesday. Thanks Dunla xxxx

Nurse told me to start taking my cyclogest in the morning. She referred to them as vaginal pessaries so I just assumed I will insert them there. I don’t have ET until Friday. We’re at the clinic for husband to give his sample on Tuesday so must double check then if I have got it right. Let us know about your ET. Take care xx

You can take pessary both way it said on the leaflet as well. But they told me take in rectaly till ET day,I’m taking 2 times a day every 12hours. My husband gave his sample the day I had my ER. Will do.thanks lovely xxx

Hi Anna00. So sorry to hear you’re still in pain. Nothing unusual I’m afraid. Make sure you rest and drink plent6 of water, in case your ovaries are still a bit active. Take some paracetamol for the pain, unless you have been prescribed something different. No anti inflammatories such as ibuprofen. The brown blood sounds like some old leftover bleeding from egg collection. Hope all soon settles down. Diane

Thanks for the reply Diane! As long as it’s normal it’s ok! I should wait to get better I think xx

Hiya, it sounds very normal, I had pain and spotting for quite a few days after egg collection. Just rest, drink plenty and take painkillers if needed.

Your body has been through a lot from making all those eggs and then surgery to retrieve them. It takes time for everything to settle back down, your ovaries will still be swollen.

If you are at all concerned just give your clinic a call and they will be able to reassure you.

Good luck with your transfer xx
