As the post says the scan today confirmed I was having some sort of period with lining only measuring 4.9mm so cycle cancelled. Sort of getting used to this now! Waited in the clinic for a followup and they are now allowing me to try a natural cycle of sorts, so got to wait for next period then start using ovulation sticks. Once I get a smiley face I'm then to use an hcg trigger injection, wait a day and then start quad therapy, lubion instead of cyclogest and throw in some oestrogen tablets. They will then scan me the day before transfer is due. Fingers crossed this has a better outcome, as it looks like my body just doesn't respond to high dose oestrogen. Gives me 6 weeks to concentrate of losing weight! Joined weight watchers last week and at tonight's weigh in lost 3 1/2lb, so treated myself to a chicken kebab 🙌🤣 so looking forward to 6 wks of weight loss to keep my mind busy and also looking forward to trying a more natural cycle! I've naturally been pregnant 3 times before, although lost them all, but my body knows it can get pregnant so hoping with good grade blasts and the right treat my body can pull off what seems like the unimaginable!!

Aw thank you Cinders, what lovely words 😘 I feel really ok about it, it's like when your trying naturally and your period arrives and it's that sort of mmmaahh type feeling, but looking forward to trying what I've wanted to for months, and if it doesn't work that month I'll insist on it again the following month. Standing on those scales last week confirmed I've put on 2 1/2 stone in 2yrs 😩 not just the drugs, but all the shit you eat when this journey never goes according to plan, so onwards and upwards as they say! Walking 3 miles a day with the dogs too, so that will all hopefully help! One of my dogs looked at me like I was crazy when the other night at 10pm I was shouting walkies 😂😂 when are you off to Greece, this month isn't it? Xx
Yep I kind of felt that way when my lining wasn't right for great transfer...just p!ssed of massively! Your poor dogs getting dragged out at 10pm!!😨🐶 I've put on around 1.5 stone in the last 2.5yrs since we got married.😩 Urrgghhh as you say, not just the drugs we're taking but all the eating crap and drinking too much wine after everything has gone wrong along with treats to cheer myself up. I've pretty much just made myself miserable now but had some fun times in there so enough is enough!!👊
Off to Greece on 24th Jan for hysteroscopy etc so not long to go for me now. Hopefully they find something wrong with me....that sounds bad but you know what I mean!!🤣xx

I'm hoping they'll be able to tell me if my womb is normal or if they've fixed anything but the bloods & biopsies will take a but longer. I'm guessing they'll have to collaborate everything and make a plan for next transfer which all being well should be March time.

hey hun..so sorry for you again..it is just so hard when you get your hopes up but natural cycles are so much easier. also totally with you and cinders above on the weight gain so I reckon we can all spur each other on there..I have gained about 2.5 stone too😢totally sucks and I blame the drugs but then also myself oh and the gin and crisps and dip 😂well done on the positive mindet too..you got this😙much love xxxx

lol I know that feeling. my dh has been so fab cooking dinners which was something I used to enjoy but since all this I just can't be arsed 😯 lost 4lb when I weighed myself today😁so just need to keep losing until treatment and steroid injections result in it all going back on again..this is so tough😢I am ok scratch next week then transfer next month😯still haven't decided on 1 or 2..I just don't want to lose all hope at once then face another fresh at my age..just so difficult all of this xx

Ohh I’m sorry to hear this, you must be so frustrated. Just a thought but have you tried acupuncture? I know it’s not for everyone but a friend of mine who had similar lining issues found it helped her having a few sessions before she tried again xxxx
Thanks Sprinkles!! I've been having accupuncture for the last 2 months, and on last months try was having it twice a week 🙄 spent a small fortune on it really. But going to go back to an accupuncturist I used over a year ago as he seemed to make a difference but was just further to get too, so hoping the change will help.

I’ve just had my cycle cancelled before I even started meds as my oestrogen is far too high, clinic has put me on the pill for three weeks then will have another blood test in a month to see if we can go ahead!

Aw thank you Lian. Sorry to hear yours has been cancelled too. I never understand the whole thing about certain levels being too high. Mine must have been through the roof, but was never tested. I have weed so much today! Lol! This always happens when I come off the tablets as they seem to give me water rentention so hoping for a big weight loss next week 🤣🤣
I find weight watchers much easier to stick to than slimming world. Think it's the restriction that helps but still allows me crisps and bread 👍

Hi baby2016, I am quite new here and was directed to your post as we seem to be in a similar situation... I also have been struggling with a thin lining after starting with the estradiol (it was 7.3mm naturally this summer, darn!), and since yesterday (day 15 of quite a high dose cycle) I have been bleeding lightly, and my lining today was a meagre 4.5, already more than 1mm thinner than last week. 
I really don't think estradiol works for me, I am not sure whether the doctor will insist on it... I am waiting to hear from her. I am very puzzled and do not understand what is going on. It's interesting to see that you have been put on a more natural cycle, I really wish you the best with it.
Anyway, just to let you know you are not alone 
Although you probably knew that already. I am also interested to see that I am not the only one who is gaining weight... well, very good luck with your slimming program.

Secondly thank you so much for your reply. Sounds like we are in a very similar situation, and it helps loads to know your not alone as it were.
I'm convinced it's my body doesn't agree with the 'fake' oestrogen. But the proof will be in the pudding as such. If mine isn't thicker naturally next month I'm going to ask for another month of just natural as it may take my body a few months to get back into it's natural rhythm with being on the tablets and patches on and off for 3 months. I'm stating accupuncture again this week to see if that helps and changing my specialist to try one I had last year that seemed to help. It is so frustrating though. I mentioned natural cycle a few months ago but they insisted they wanted me medicated but now as I have regular periods (unless the oestrogen messed them up) then there prepared for me to try it as long as I take the additional meds as well, which I'm more than happy to do.
Thanks re the weight loss, I've really thrown myself into it as a distraction and walked 12miles this weekend, so hoping for another loss tomorrow. Oestrogen really effects my weight and I feel sooo much better to be off it. I have a feeling that if ivf is going to work for me it will be down the natural route, and I know from being on here a while it has for many others.

Indeed, I just heard from my doctor. She told me to stop the estradiol as it seems not to work for me, and we will try with a natural cycle when/if I get ready. She is also recommending the ERA test, if I get to at least 6mm. It looks promising, but it's expensive... (920 euros in CZ), and I worry it might have to be repeated, depending on the result.
Like you, I have felt that the 'fake' estradiol is not for me, from the beginning. Last summer at my first visit I was at 7.3mm without any hormones. We decided to go with HRT though because it seemed more practical (for various reasons). My first attempt with estradiol patches was last October (I was going for FET directly), it did not go well (6.5mm + cyst), so we tried to go natural next - but it did not work either! Sgrunt. I kept having cramps and light bleeding after the (induced) period, so no surprise that my scan at day 10 gave a pathetic result (4mm). I waited ca. 40 days, no period (but back to 7mm at day 32!), and then induced a bleed with progesterone, and then started with a higher dose of estradiol, which worked even less than the first time (5.8mm; 4.5mm today). As you say, soooo frustrating!
Sorry just recounting my story for the record and comparison purposes... and also to say that indeed it might take longer for the body to 'reset' than just one cycle. Not to be pessimistic!! Just saying one might need to be very patient (deep breath). So let's keep optimistic! I am actually relieved to come off the patches and pills! Sounds like we are in a similar situation then! What's the ERA test and what does it test for?
For now, as you I'm just enjoying being off all the meds and having a normal life. I've gone back to my original accupuncturist who got me to 9mm last year (never happened since) and decided I'm going to incorporate the Chinese herbs this time as well! My NHS doc was really against them, but as it's not worked yet I'm prepared to give them a go!
