Hi ladies, just a quick question. Ive been suffering with a lot of anxiety and stress since going through my fertility journey! Hardly sleeping, panci attacks etc i spoke to my doctor today and he says he can do blood tests to check for diabetes, low iron etc but he knows exactly why im going through. Does anyone else experience this?

Hi Destiny121
You are not alone..I’ve always suffered with anxiety through the years but since starting icsi treatment last year it’s been worse.
I’ve been having acupuncture for the past 4 months and I honestly think it helps x
Ahh thx for responding... sometimes you assume your the only one. May i ask what your symtoms with anxiet are and how you manage to relax?
I think going through this will give anyone anxiety.definitly not alone at all.
I have panic attacks, I feel like I struggle to Breath and I also feel like my heart is pounding out my chest... I find that I over think everything and always think the worst out of a situation.
I’ve downloaded a mindset app that helps calm me down. I also read a book called the chip paradox it’s a mind management book, it’s so interesting.
Yes!
I have acupuncture once a month normally and before my 2nd ivf round I also had reflexology and hypnotherapy. I have a massage every now and again. Anything to try and keep me chilled out!
Ahhh tht sounds good. Perhaps ill look into this as well. Im literally having panic attacks thinking im going to collapse but the doctor says stress can cause this. Its a nightmare...
Yes! Anxiety and in my case it makes me really controlling! Both acupuncture and counselling helped. My friend also had this, has finally got her child (after 8 rounds of treatment) and has reassured me that it went away once baby arrived safely. In the meantime I’d ask your GP to refer you for counselling rather than blood tests xx
You poor thing, fertility treatment is so difficult. Physically and emotionally. I have experience of this also. Stress, anxiety and depression. I tried counselling, exercise, acupuncture and listened to guided meditations to help me relax to sleep at night. I really hope you can find something that will help you manage your symptoms. Love and very best wishes xx
I've been exactly the same and lack of sleep was making me ill. I started taking evening rescue remedy where it's a small herbal tablet that dissolves on your tongue. It doesn't make you sleepy just turns your mind off, so to say, which then makes you sleep. Has worked a treat for me 👍xx
I struggle with anxiety too and also have panic attacks and generally feel like I have a knot in my chest and just feel so anxious all the time and obsess over everything. I recently had hypnotherapy which was amazing and most of all really helped me to sleep better. I’m going to have another session. Little things like burning nice candles, having a bath and I have an essential oil diffuser now too I find help me to make my surroundings feel calmer and that helps too Xx
Hi Destiny,
Lots of the girls here have already given you great advice. I would take up the counselling as it might benefit you. Most fertility clinics offer counselling support. I’ve personally never gone on it, but if you feeling like this, it may be worth a try.
I also feel anxious at times, but mostly when I’m over thinking and have lots of time. This is why I have kept working & follow my usual routine so I am not dwelling too much on time to think which stresses me out.
I really hope you feel better soon, what we going through is really stressful and some handle it better than others, but deep down it’s truly hard to cope and sometimes you may just need a little help & new perspective.
Look after yourself!
Thanks for your advice, i dont think counselling is for me to be honest. I do overthink everything and now its not just fertility... amy little things ill over think. Im just going to concentrate on my health and relax a bit more and take my time. Had a much better sleep after hearing about every ones elses experiences though....
So thank you
X
