So after a telephone appointment last week with my clinic, I have now started on 3 oestrogen patches and to take 3 oestrogen tablets daily.
I did initially want a month off all the drugs. But they advised me strongly to stay on them as in 70% of cases the lining will thicken month on month. So fingers crossed this month gets above 6mm and stays above!
If I fall into the 30% that it doesn't thicken for then I will go onto a 3 month course of oestrogen without any breaks to slowly try an build up the lining, apparently this treatment is used with women who have had the menopause.
Fingers crossed it all works this month. After battling in my head for months over Doner Eggs, to then accept that Doner Eggs would be our best chance of success, for now to have stupid lining issues then it all just feels like one hurdle after another! Xx

Fingers crossed that things go to plan this time....why do things never run smoothly for some of us eh?! Wishing you loads of luck and at least your clinic is planning ahead and you know you have options!xx
Will do hun, I'll be looking out for your updates!
Hysteroscopy is in 4 weeks so not too long to go now. The good news is that my smear was normal after thinking it wasnt going to be, phew! I have the same fear as you that surrogacy might be the only thing left for me too. How can it be so flipping diffcult to get pregnant! Grrrrr. xxx
When you research into thin lining it's a bit of a grey area isn't it! Least you know that in previous cycles they have managed to get your lining to a good size so fingers crossed that works again for you!
If it came to surrogacy being our last option I think we would just go down the adoption route then as would not be able to afford the cost of surrogacy on top of all this.
Thanks Button 😊 hope all is going well with you. Not long to go now! I'm so worried that nothing will work and then be given the only option of surrogacy 😬xx
Oh, how disappointing! At least there’s a course of action. I’m doing a medicated FET now and having to take 8mg of oestrogen from day 1.
Not sure how my lining will build as I had two surgeries prior. It is encouraging to hear they have a plan though with poor lining, so it was good to hear your story!
Hopefully your closer to getting there on your next try.
Hi, yes I’ve been on all 4 tablets from the start day 1. Today is my 6th day.
I’m waiting to hear back from the clinic when to go in for a scan which they told me would be around 2 weeks from day 1 but with Christmas etc I don’t have a date yet.
I’ve not had my lining checked, so no idea how this will work for me. I’m hoping it will be fine as I feel quite nauseous on these tablets already.
Yeah they make me feel a bit sick too. Although woke up with a banging headache today as well, which I know can be a side effect.
I'm sure if you've never had lining issues before you'll be ok, mines always been hit and miss and only seems to get thicker when I do a fresh cycle.
I'm just going to ring about my scan, normally between day 14-16 but they time it on how many transfers they have in 6 days from the scan and work it out that way at my clinic. Yours sounds like it may be similar too xx
I hope so, I had to have adhesions removed, so I have no idea if my lining can build. I’m a bit anxious about it, but have to go with the motions I suppose.
It makes sense if you got a better result with a fresh cycle. They could always top up on the oestrogen during the cycle, but I’m not sure I’m just guessing as this is my first frozen.
I don’t understand the purpose of the down regulation to be honest? Do you know.
I haven't got a clue either! Every clinic seems to do different protocols 🙄 I've just asked if it doesn't work if I can do a natural cycle and add in oestrogen from day 4 as that's what my previous clinic does, but they said that's not a protocol they use there, so would need to discuss further with me if needed. Got the headache from hell now! Xx
Bless you hon, it must be so frustrating. This journey is certainly testing 🙄 I’m keeping everything crossed for you that the meds do the trick this time 👍🏼 Xxx
We’ve decided not to progress with one of them and have had one more since so got 2 to compare again. I think I’m happy with one of them, I didn’t get the ‘feeling’ I thought I’d get but the more I read it, the more characteristics I see of me in it and I don’t know how long we’ll have to wait for the perfect match. Just need to see if OH agrees xx
I had the same problems. However, I did manage a 'healthy lining' which was thicker last time. I was also on 3 patches and took daily 'baby 75mg' aspirin. I put it down to both. I will do that next time. Best of luck x
Aw thank you music1! I don't know what to do re the aspirin, as my clinic don't avodocate it till positive test, and I've had a few consultations/visits with Tommys recurrent miscarriage clinic of which they say their research is showing that aspirin has a negative effect on womb lining preparation, and yet so many others swear by it! I just wish all clinic followed the same protocols!
