Hi Ladies, last month my fet was cancelled due to lining only getting to 5.3mm, this month progynova was added along with 2 patches a day. My clinic do around 14 days on oestrogen before starting cyclogest and transfer 5 days later.
This month I've paid for accupuncture twice a week, been drinking 1/2 bottle of Pom a day, doing castor oil heat packs most night, taking vitamin E and drinking 2x cups of rasberry tea a day. On day 13 my lining has reached 6.3mm, due it being good quality they decided to go ahead with transfer so was scheduled for next week. Due to anxiety I asked if I could be scanned today to find it had reduced to 5.4mm 😩 so cycle cancelled again.
Is there anyone else who has regular lining issues and eventually went on to some who thicken it? I know fresh cycles produce thicker linings but interested in FET info from anyone as that's what all mine will be.
This whole fertility journey is one hurdle after another x

Oh no, sorry to hear this. I don’t really have any personal advice, I did have issues with my lining and it didn’t thicken as quick as they’d have liked, mines got to 6.3 after 3 week and then they did the transfer.
A friend of mine her cousin had lining issues, from what I remember her FET were cancelled twice also due to not being able to get the lining thick enough, they tried a third time with progunova and patches and it thickened enough that time for her transfer.
I’m sure the second time they also used progynova and patches but her lining kept reducing. Nothing done different third time but for some reason she just responded better.
All I can say was I ate lots of protein as I heard this can also help increase lining xxx
I asked this cycle about a natural cycle but they said because of my age (40) they wanted to give me oestrogen. I'm convinced I ovulated on sun/mon as had all the pains and symptoms and at the right time but they said it was very rare for that to happen. Got to have a follow up soon, so see what they say.
That is a shame, I guess they do know best but it’s still very frustrating. I hope on your next round your lining will thicken enough 🤞🍀 do you know when the next transfer will be?
Hopefully between now and then all the protein and Pom juice will help 🤞 xxx
Hey, what a flipping disappointment again for you but better to be safe than sorry, glad you asked for that scan! How much progynova did the clinic give you along with patches? I think my clinic are planning on doing combination next time too. Could the clinic start you on a higher dose of progynova and keep upping the dose next time? Might be something to ask about. My lining has never been great in fresh or frozen but for some reason it jumped at the last minute after a few adjustments of progynova and you telling me to take vit E.xx
Last cycle I was in just 2 patches every 3/4 days, this cycle was 2 patches and progynova 3x daily. I've just looked through my info on s previous cycle and going to ask if I can do one where I have my own surge and add progynova at about day 4 as that cycle my lining was between 7-8. Think my body copes better when not pumped with drugs. I've been taking vit e for months now so for some reason it's not made a difference this cycle. When are you planning to go again? Xx
I'm having hysteroscopy in Jan with loads of tests....endo & bloods. They just want to check I don't have any underlying issues causing poor lining etc which I was a bit pissed at if I'm honest buy it makes sense not to put embryos back & waste them if I have a simple issue. Defo ask as much as you can, I tried upping the dose and taking progynova vaginaly too 1st time which didn't help but landed up on a massive oral dose 2nd time which did help eventually....without the bfp. I'm sure they'll have a plan!!xx
Absolutely, need the best chance ever! Wishing you & hubby best Xmas too. Will let you know how I get on...if anything I can pass on....or not!! Lots of love xxx
So sorry to hear this hon, must be v.frustrating. I’m afraid I can’t give any advice from personal experience but hoping it gets better for you next time xx
We had a profile through which wasn’t a very good match at all, physically or personality-wise. Then we had another one last week which looked ok but there wasn’t a huge amount of information to go on. Don’t know if I’m being unrealistic but thought I’d get a ‘feeling’ when we got the right one. How did you decide your match was the right one? Xx
Hi I’ve had lining issues in all my cycles, on the last fresh cycle I was taking 25mg viagra once a day and oestrogen patches changed every 3rd day, for the first time ever I had the perfect lining! Might be worth asking your clinic if you can try it x
I stopped taking it the day I did the trigger injection, I think I started it after my first follicle checking scan during stims, the first few days of taking it I did have mild palpitations and a few (more) hot flushes but they passed quickly, unfortunately we had no embryos to put back but I would definitely use it again on my next cycle x
The medicines stopped me from developing a decent lining. It was only on an unmedicated natural cycle that my lining was of a good standard. Is that a possibility for you?
I'm thinking this is the same with me. They said they didn't want me to do a natural cycle because of my age? (40) but going to see if they will at least scan me in a natural cycle just to see. Just don't think my body likes all the fake hormone drugs xx
That's annoying. On my successful FET I started having a spoonful of honey with royal jelly, pomegranate juice and Brazil nuts, and just a very balanced diet. I stopped the honey and pom juice day before transfer and ate pineapple for a few days after.
It's crazy all the things we do. I've read eating more protein, dairy and avocados is good too.
Good luck. Hope you can successfully have the transfer next time you try!
