Attending appointment without OH

Hi everyone, i just wanted to know if anyone has attended any of the clinic appointments without partners? My OH cant take time off work so i will have to attend on my own. Does it cause any issues if i see them alone? Its the follow up after taking clomid.

Hi Naz, I can’t see why it would be a problem as it’s a follow up. Generally the OH is a bit of a spare part before their bit is needed! Xx

Hi Nas, hope you are well. I’ve been to several clinics without my OH. Our consultant knows it’s difficult for him to get time off and they are fine with it. Hope your appointment goes ok xx

My hubby is the same. The clinic should tell you which appointments he must attend and then all the rest are optional x

My OH was only able to come to the important parts (EC and ET) due to work, there wasn't really any need for him to be there for the rest of it. He would of if it was easier but we just got on with it

Hi Naz, they usually tell you if OH needs to be there, but its not always essential. We tried to get saturday appointments, very early morning and late evening appointments so to avoid taking time off work. You should be ok for most of the apps. More important that he is at EC and ET

My OH only came to main appointment and EC and ET X

I always took my mum to my appointments, she also came on the ones when hubby had to do his bit! Cannot afford to take time off work every time. I always take my mum to hold my hand and also to remember what has been said!

I have done some appointments on my own and it was fine. I just made them talk slowly so I could make notes. Mind you, it was appointments where I knew I wouldn’t have to make any decisions there and then x

Mine only came to the consultations where he had to sign the consent forms for ivf and also egg collection and transfer. All my other scans etc I went on my own x

Like the others I’ve been to loads of appointments on my OH or dragged my mum along. My OH has just started his own business so it’s all a bit mad and he’s booked egg Coll off but forgot about the transfer!!

My OH did not come to any of my appointment just the first few when he was needed to do tests and bloods. He didn’t come to any of my scans. Just ET and EC.

It’s usually in and out for scans and they can be quite regular, so I was generally fitting them in my regular schedule and hubby was at work.

I would just call after to update him xxx

Good luck!!
