Hi ladies!

Just a quick question for who’s currently attending GRI, or about to, or have been attending last year near to the festive season.

Do you know when they’ll be closed for the festive season?

I’ve been told the closure dates at my last appointment, but I can’t actually remember.. I have a vague memory of the nurse saying “closed from 4th to 27th Dec”, but it seems to be a little bit too much, isn’t it.

I’m sorry for all my stupid and boring and annoying questions. Its only that I want to mentally prepare myself in advance for a possible further delay..

Hi TerryNaples. You will find most clinics are starting to wind down now for the festive season. just give them a ring and they will remind you of the dates. Diane

If you get the answer to this can you please post. I am at the GRI but never had appointments over Christmas. I am due to start another attempt at FET in November so would be interested to know. It never occurred to me they'd close for so long.

I've recently found out that (probably) they avoid people having egg collections in the week 17/12 - 23/12 and the week after.

I think I'll give the clinic a call tomorrow to see if I can get more specific info, as I actually don't even know (papers I have home are not very clear to me) what protocol I'll be going through and I would like starting planning my life for the following months.

As soon as I'll have more info, I'll spread the word

Yeah the paperwork can be a lot to take in. There are so many different protocols. I only really got clear idea of timings when I actually started. I was on a short protocol 1 (the number is at the top of the document) if you are the same i can try and help if youve got any questions. The staff are great though

Hi Waterfall,

I've called the clinic, and the only thing that I was able to find out is that 99% I won't be able to start before Christmas because of the festive shut down, but the nurse on the phone did not want to tell me the exact closure days, so I'm unfortunately not able to help more then this.

Do you have any news on your side?

That's such a shame you wont be able to get started before Christmas, I'm sorry to hear that.

I am booked in to start another attempt at a FET on the 5th November. I assume because it's a shorter process and easier to cancel without having to worry about egg collection it's OK to do before Christmas.

I hope you get a start date soon.
